*As I read this book I immediately connected to the point outlined in the Module 2 readings that nonfiction books can include storytelling elements, and that is exactly what this text did. While it was devoted to informing the reader about the remarkable character, it took time to include detail that we often experience when reading fiction texts. 
*The book did encompass major events in the life of Rachel Carson, all that were necessary in showing the reader the long road she journeyed to become the well known environmentalist that she is today. 
*Some events were simply touched on, while others were explored in more detail. 
*Dates were included in the text for events such as her birth, the release date of her book, and her death. 
*The book took notice to the struggles she endured being a woman seeking a job in the science field as well as brought attention to the fact that the work she did was work that many women did not do at the time. 
*At closing of the book, recognition was brought to the laws that Rachel's book kick started.
