Greetings to all, My name is Sanskruti Sainath Nagwekar. I am performing an experiment on acid- base indicator.

The ingredients I will be using are purple cabbage, rose, hibiscus, turmeric,baking soda,lemon juice and utensils.

Crushing the rose petals.

Kept the rose petals in warm water to extract the colour until the water turns slightly pink

In the first glass,we put some lemon juice in the rose coloured water which has turned slightly reddish.

In the second glass,we have put some baking soda solution which has turned the rose coloured water in green colour.

Crush some purple cabbage.

Kept the purple cabbage in warm water for 20 minutes till the purple colour is extracted.

First glass has lemon juice which turns the purple water pinkish.

Second glass has baking soda solution which turns the purple water in to blueish green in colour.

These things are easily available at home .

This indicates that detergent is basic in nature

This shows that lemon water is acidic in nature

sharing my journey of making acid - base indicator with the help of following ingredients: 1.Lemon Juice 2.Soap Solution 3.Turmeric Solution

Result: The acidic lemon juice is reacted with soap solution (base) and turned the liquid into neutral.

My name is Shlok Vilas Belwale.

I am shared my acidic and basic experience.

First we have to take one flower. The name of the flower is Aster then crush it.

The solution we have to test it was acidic or basic are: 1. Baking soda , 2. Lemon juice , 3. Detergent.

When we add the detergent in turmeric solution it will change the colour yellow to Red it mean the detergent is basic.

When we add the lemon juice in turmeric solution it will not change the colour it when the lemon juice is acidic.

When we add the baking soda in turmeric solution it will change the colour in orange it mehndi baking soda is basic.

The solution of baking soda and detergent color dark it mean they both are basic.

The lemon juice can do the colour light it we need was the acidic

The baking soda and return the solution dark it means that they are basic.

The lemon juice done the solution light it mean it is acidic

In this we want turmeric in a bowl and some water and lemon juice solution and washing powder solution

Activity 2.3 red rose as an indicator first make rose water from leaves pour in three glass Solution A, Solution B and Solution C

Collect some fallen petals and crush place them in the glass and pour hot water

Materials Required:

• Turmeric powder – 1 tsp

• Water – 1/4 cup

• Filter paper

• Paintbrush

• Small bowl

• Spoon

• Tray (for drying)

  
  

How to Prepare:

Step 1: Prepare the Turmeric Solution:

Ø  Mix 1 tsp of turmeric powder with a small amount of water to form a smooth paste.

Ø  Add more water to make a slightly thick liquid.

Step 2: Apply the Solution:

Ø  Use a paintbrush to evenly coat a piece of filter paper with the turmeric solution.

Ø  Ensure the paper is fully covered.

Step 3: Dry the Paper:

Ø  Place the turmeric-coated paper on a tray.

Ø  Leave it in a dry, shaded area until completely dry. This may take a few hours.

Step 4: Cut and Store:

Ø  Once dry, cut the paper into small strips.

Ø  Store in a clean, dry envelope for future use.

Test with Turmeric Paper:

·        Turmeric contains curcumin, which is yellow in neutral and acidic environments.

·        In basic (alkaline) conditions, it turns reddish-brown.

·        Hence, turmeric paper can be used to test for acids and bases.

Today I am here to test the inehcators of the the turmeric paper, sope solution and lemon juice

I have now poured the sole solution in the homemade turmeric paper and you can see that the colour of the turmeric paper has turn into orange

Now I have poured some drops of lemon juice on the orange turmeric paper the colour to yellow as before

I am Himadri Singh from class 7B. I have made an acid-base indicator using turmeric powder and water.

I was not able to make an indicator from china rose because it was difficult to find.

Result- the colour did not change

That means , turmeric does not change colour when it comes in contact an acid.

Acid : lemon juice (citric acid)

Base : baking soda solution (NaOH)

Salt : sugar solution

Now let us see what colour changes are seen respectively.

After the China rose indicator we will also check the presence of acid,base or salt in turmeric paper and the colour changes.

When taken a China rose indicator, colour of Base changes to green

Acid changes to magenta

Salt shows no colour

Greetings, My name is Janhvi bansode from class 7B,I am performing an activity using home made turmeric paper as an indicator the ingredients I will be using are:- Turmeric paper, sugar solution, lemon juice, washing powder solution. so here we can see that when the turmeric paper dipped in sugar solution it doesn't show any change,when it is dipped in lemon juice it also doesn't show any change but when it dipped in washing powder solution it shows bright red,so we got it that the turmeric paper identify 'Basic' substance but it cannot identify 'Acidic' or' Neutral' substance

First bowl has lemon juice and the the color of turmeric paper did not change

In second bowl there is salt water but still there is no change of color

In the third bowl there is the solution of soap and now the color has changed from yellow to red

1. Take turmeric paper strip and deep into the lemon juice.

In shugar solution turmeric powder colour paper doesn't changes its remains yellow

In soap solution turmeric paper strip colour changes to red

In lemon juice solution turmeric paper strip colour doesn't changes its remains yellow.
