My favourite site is the Castel Sant'Angelo in Rome. I think it is a beautiful building and setting (as can be seen in the post with a picture with no title that I made before creating an account!). The castle is rich in history and dates back to the Roman period under Emperor Hadrian, when it was originally built as a mausoleum to his family; it then fell under the ownership of the Popes and became a prison and military barracks. I distinctly remember, upon coming out at the top, the massive bronze statue of Archangel Michael that is the crowning glory of this monument.

One of my favourite sites is the National Slate Museum in Llanberis, north Wales, particularly the Quarrymen's Houses and shops. These allow you to explore where the Quarrymen and their families would have lived in, modelling houses from 1861, 1900, and 1969. The interactive nature of these houses and shops makes for a very memorable experience, and allows you to almost step into the shoes of a Quarryman in north Wales throughout different periods of history. Since visiting the museum as a child, I have come to appreciate this experience more and more due to my Welsh mining heritage, as it has allowed me to feel more connected with my Welsh heritage.

One of my favorite sites is St. Michael’s mount in Cornwall. The journey to the island either over the sand or by boat is lovely and the view at the top over the sea and coast is stunning. There is a chapel and a medieval castle in which you can walk around. I particularly remember the Great Hall with a long table and stained glass windows as well as the coat of arms with historical significance from the civil war. Surrounding the castle there were many cannons. It is also interesting to hear the myths and legends associated with the place.

One of my favourite sites that I have visited is the National Civil War musuem in Newark. I found myself fascinated with all the interesting exhibits on objects during the Civil War such as the armour that was used by the Roundheads and Royalists as well as the interesting films they played on the battlefield of the Civil War and how the everyday common person was affected by this whilst also having to deal with the plague. I also happy to be able to have a look at the wheelchair of the Roundhead Commander Sir Thomas Fairfax on the upper floor.

My favourite site would have to be the Stately home, Castle Howard located in North Yorkshire. One of the things that I enjoyed was the variety of artefacts or pieces of furniture that ranged from eras and locations, my favourite being a mummified cat and a gift from Louis XVI. I also thought the gardens were beautiful and well-kept with great statues dotted all around also. The interaction in this site was interesting as well and one thing I particularly enjoyed was how prestigious the site was and to get to look around a home that had been passed down generations.

One of my favourite sites is the Museum of Lincolnshire Life. It is very local to me and I have many happy memories there. The museum itself is overflowing with fascinating objects and we have special favourites such as the scarecrow and the horse that we have to visit whenever we go. There are often activities or special displays to see and the outside play area is really well designed.

One of my favourite sites is The Collection in Lincoln. It is very local and has a variety of different periods of history to explore. I always went there for school trips and have fewed special exhibits there from time to time such as the torture exhibit to the moon exhibition. There are loads of activities for children to do there as well and a lot of interactive displays for people to engage in. The Collection also has Viking displays which I find really fascinating.

one of my favourite sites is from Turkey, while there i visited Cleopatra's pools in Pamukkale. It was an amazing experience to swim through the clear water ful of broken columns that had fallen and been left in the water, where Cleopatra herself had bathed. The pools sit ontop of natural flowing mineral water where the city of Heiropolis was built. While in Turkey i also visisted the ancient city remains of Ephesus, it was incredible to see the structures still left behind and wonder how they had been built.
