Thoreau compares the battle to humanity, saying, "I was myself excited somewhat even as if they had<br>been men. The more you think of it, the less the difference." He is saying that he thinks humanity is ruthless in battle and that war is harmful to both sides.</div>]]></description>

He does this in order to prove his point correct; humans really are not much better than animals. This is justifiable due to his example of the fighting between ants and his comparison of the battle of Troy. He is trying to show that the human species are&nbsp; just another animal fighting for survival in the world.</div>]]></description>

Thoreau goes in depth while describing everything and creating a picture for the reader. If the paragraph had no adjectives, it would be a lot harder to understand. "The legions of these Myrmidons covered all the hills and vales in my wood yard, and the grounds was already strew with the dead and dying, both red and black." Myrmidons are soldiers in Greek mythology which is being compared to the ants. There are many more comparison using Greek mythology. Using Greek mythology personnel to compare to ants but there is also many comparisons between the red and black ants using metaphors.&nbsp;</div>]]></description>

Ants will kill for specific reasons as do humans. He compares fighting ant armies as allied combatants. He makes references to the Greek gods fighting one another, and explains that for some reason, he finds joy in watching the ants fight, which further shows a humans "violent" mindset.&nbsp;<br><br></div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Without adjectives, the paragraph would lose its flowing manner and definition as well as meaning. You take away adjectives from this paragraph and you would have little to no sense of the scene being told. Description is important to Imagery and to indulge in a story like this paragraph from "Brute Neighbors," imagery is key. Transcendental elements would also be affected by the removal of adjectives. In the text it describes the ants and scenes as different things, "black warrior," "stronger black one," and even adjectives of the 'battle.' We lose a deeper meaning and comparison of nature to human kind, making them seem like the same thing. Truths in nature are hard to find if you look at everything literally and without imaginative and descriptive context.</div>]]></description>
