"Alas, that love, so gentle in his view, Should be so tyrannous and rough in proof!" On Act 1 Scene 1 Page 9
This shows that Benvolio is realistic about love. As I see it hes saying love doesn't always go well and that's true. He's also saying If love is onesided it's harsh. He's saying love can be blind and can leave you in a cruel state. Love is something you want because it looks nice but once you grasp it in reality it can be consequential.

I would say Benvolio is worrying about Romeo. Hes trying to help Romeo overcome his love for Rosaline because he doesn't want him to be stuck in a one sided love because he knows it's rough and sad. He's worrying that Romeo won't find anyone to fall in love with. He wants to help Romeo and is worried about him being sad from blind love.

I chose Hazel Grace from,"The fault in our stars." In the novel by John Greene, Hazel has always had a realistic view about love and how the world works. She never truly believed in love, and when she was in love she was rational about it. She knew there would be fights and good times. Just like Benvolio believes we can be rational with love, and how it controls us. Thats why Hazel Grace and Benvolio are alike in their views of a realistic love life.

"Be rul'd by me: forget to think of her." (Act 1, Scene 1, page 11)
This quote shows Benvolios realistic perspective on love. In this scene he tells Romeo, in plain words, to forget about his love [Rosaline]. If he forgets about her then he isnt heartbroken and his mind will be calmer. In other words, Benvolio is showing his belief that love or loving someone should not control your life. Your life is full of many things and love is included, but everything should even out.

"By giving liberty unto thine eyes; examine other beauties." (Act 1, scene 1, page 12) this shows that Benvolio is realistic about love by telling Romeo to move on and that he should find new love instead of thinking about Rosaline. Benvolio is trying to give Romeo advice and help him think more realistically about love

I think that Benvolio does not believe in love at first sight since he seems to act more realistically about love than idealistically. I think that Benvolio doesn't believe in falling in love since he tells Romeo to move on and doesn't understand that Romeo was in love with Rosaline. I think that Benvolio believes in attraction because he tells Romeo to "examine other beauties." I also think that Benvolio wouldn't be the type to end up getting married because he seems more free spirited .
