One of the most difficult things a teacher can achieve is their ability to reach each and every student. It is far easier to teach the accelerated learners than it is to bring up the struggling masses.

It breaks my heart when I hear students talk about the lack of attention parents and guardans give their education and attendance. There is notenough emphasis towards parents and guardians on the importance of supporting your child's education efforts and the importance of being in class.

This is a struggle I feel deeply connected to. When we attempt to support our children with their studying and learning are we being too hard on them and turning them away from us? It seems so much easier to be patient with other students more than our own children.

It is hard for teachers to challenge the high achievers and motivate those who struggle. It is even more difficult when our education systems and laws lose focus on our high achievers, leaving them in the dark.

Is a teachers salary the real reason we have such a shortage of qualified teachers in our schools? This may just be a small reason among many others to include a quality support staff and safety. We need to do better to retain the great teachers that we already have.

We cannot take no for an answer. If we want quality teachers to stick it out through the difficult times then we must pay them. We must ensure that those elected to represent us do just that. In my opinion, one great teacher is more effective than 10 mediocre ones.

Should our focus still be learning large amounts of knowledge and being able to pass a test on that knowledge? I'm not sure we are preparing students well enough to function properly in an almost exclusively digital age.

I must say that at first, I was very skeptical about the introduction of AI in the classroom. My original thought was that it would make students lazy. I never considered how helpful it could be to teachers.

It is no secret that teachers are worked to the bone both inside and outside of the classroom. AI can definitely help lighten that work load. I do believe though that AI will make great teachers better and poor teachers worse.

As with everything, it is important to embrace change. Education initiatives have continued to evolve. Is it time for our curriculum to undergo a major change to keep up with advancements in technology and new research developments?
