The most pivotal scene or event in the book was when Daisy killed Mrytle because after that it showed that Daisy didn´t actually have any love for Gatsby. She was willing to kill for Tom but wasn´t willing to take the blame for killing Mrytle and let Gatsby take it and in return he died. It showed that Tom and Daisy did whatever they wanted and never had any consequences.

Also I think that Daisy and Gatsby might have ended up together but not because Daisy loved him, because she wanted to get back at Tom for being unloyal all these years. Tom would probably go and find a new mistress but he will always love Daisy anyways.

We didn´t like the way it ended because Gatsby didn´t deserve to die. The rest of the book we enjoyed and thought that the themes were conveyed well and that it makes you think how you would act if you had money like them. Would I be as reckless with other people´s lives as Tom and Daisy are or would I be like Nick and Gatsby? It comes back to the new money vs. old money. I think I would recommend this book because it is a good quick read and it is interesting to see how Nick and Gatsby´s relationship develops throughout the book.
