Evaluating 13 Scenarios of AI in Student Coursework  is an official IB document designed to help teachers address the use of AI in student work. Given its importance to students, we need to communicate to students how teachers will handle AI in a student-friendly way.

Yes! To an extent. AI can be used as a jumping-off tool that may lead you to more refined and interesting research questions. However, be careful with trusting the results of an AI. They can hallucinate and provide false "facts".

When using AI in the Design Cycle (Inquiring and Analyzing, Developing Ideas, Creating the Solution, Evaluating), students should articulate how AI contributes to each phase. For instance, if AI is used for idea generation, students must show how they critically evaluated the AI’s suggestions and modified them to suit their project goals.

How do teachers check:

Teachers should check on the sources of students products or works regularly, and randomly ask questions as to why.

Perhaps. Perhaps not. Any piece of information provided by an AI should be independently verified. AIs do not understand what information is true or not. An AI will provide both facts and hallucinations with equal confidence. Students should be sure to verify everything provided to them by an AI.

If students of different level were given the standardize prompts from the instructor, it would save time of trial and error, and all of them would be able to quickly get preliminary results for further revision.

For the results received from GPT, there is need for contumplation about how to evaluate initial (self composition) , the GPT results, and after comparing the two versions of contents, should be arriving with a synthesized version, and also be careful NOT to take GPT generated responce without questioning.
