Ramadan is a holy month for us where we fast and give charity. At the end of the holy month we celebrate Eid where we dress up in new clothes like Kurta Pyjama, meet our family, go to the Mosque, and make sheer Korma which is our traditional sweet that we make on Eid. We practice reading Namaz 5 times a day on a daily basis. For our pilgrimage Hajj which happens one in a year. We go to Mecca in Saudi Arabia where the Kaba is housed there. People from all over the world come to the same place every year at the same time. Our mini Pilgrimage Umrah can be done all throughout the year. We relish non vegetarian food like chicken, mutton, fish. We are forbidden to eat pork and drink alcohol. Our holy book is Quran and we all learn how to read it.

I am from Kutch, Gujurat
What is the Speciality of Kutch?

Kutch is famous for its handicrafts, hills, white deserts, beautiful virgin sea beaches, various forts and above all Dholaveera, one of the five largest Harappan sites and among the most prominent archaeological sites in India belonging to the Indus Valley Civilization.

Food invented in Kutch: Gulab-pak was invented in Kachchh. It is a sweet of pure rose petals. Almond, Cashew, pistachio Milk & Sugar.
Adadiya is a famous sweet of Kachchh which is available only in winter. People enjoy this sweet around the world. It has health benefits also. This is made in pure ghee
Odho, is a Kachchhi delicacy. It is similar in preparation to the ever popular ‘Baingan Bharta’. A typical Kachchhi meal consists of Bajre ja rotla, Odho, kadhi, garlic chutney & ‘goad’ aka jaggery. The meal is almost always followed by a chilled glass of ‘chhaas’, a very thin buttermilk which helps cool down the body during the extremely dry hot seasons.

The famous festivals of Kutch: One of the biggest festivals in Gujarat, people plan for it, months in advance. Held on 14th January every year, this festival marks the end of winter and the beginning of summer when the sun is out and its time for harvest. Begun in 1989, Ahmedabad hosts the International Kite Festival at the Sardar Patel Stadium, as a part of official celebrations in the state.

If you want to experience white salt deserts, folk music and dance then make sure you plan a visit to the Rann of Kutch -the site of the fantastic Rann Utsav. This two-month festival attracts thousands around the world.
The festival is when you will find accommodations in the tent city that mushrooms in Dhordo, Bhuj just before the festival starts in November and taken down after it ends in February.

Festivals in Gujarat are plenty; however, the fervour for the Hindu festival Navratri is unlike any other. Celebrated across the country in September or October every year, this nine-day dance fest honours Goddess Shakti’s triumph over evil after a battle of 9 days. They venerate an avatar of the Goddess each day before the dance begins whether it is Garba, Dandiya or a little of both.

Held on Kartik Poornima based on the Hindu Calendar, devoted to both Lord Shiva and Vishnu often falls in November. Gujarati’s call it the Shymalaji Melo -celebrated on the banks of the River Meshwo near the well-known Shyamlaji temple. This three-week-long fair attracts thousands from around the world. Many arrive on foot or riding camel-led carts while singing praises of the Gods. Devotees bathe in the holy waters of the river, seek blessing and then move on to enjoy the fair, buy silver ornaments, metal-ware and clothes.

These are some great things about Kutch, Gujurat
if you are intrested,Why not go there.
If you go rember these points.
See,you soon.

If you know the history of Canada, you'll know that the indigenous experienced racism, much like the rest of the indigenous peoples of the Americas.

The indigenous people today continue to keep their culture alive with local artists creating wonderful works of art that you can find all over British Columbia's towns and cities. Contrary to popular belief, the images on the totem poles don't represent gods, but are used to represent ancestry, histories, people and events.
