Will’s brother Shawn was just shot.
Will finds a gun and goes into the elevator, planning to kill the guy who did it.
But on each floor, someone from his past enters the elevator and talks to him.
The book is about revenge, grief, and the rules of the street.

Will – The main character, 15 years old, sad and angry after his brother is killed.
Shawn – Will’s older brother who gets shot.
Uncle Mark, Buck, Dani, Frick, Mikey (his dad) – All show up in the elevator. They are all dead and teach Will something.
They help him think about what he’s doing and if he should really get revenge.
