Storm Aileen's extreme weather continues to develop due to intense low pressure getting lower as it approaches the UK. According to MET Office, Storm Aileen is set to reach gusts (strong rushes of wind) "up to 75 mph". There will also be heavy rain throughout the cities affected.

Trips have been delayed and markets have closed because of Aileen. The combination of strong gusts and rainfall (around 30-40mm) make it difficult for the people to drive and cause disruption. Flooding may occur; which can possibly affect homes, markets and businesses. Yellow warnings for rain have been issued in Scotland, Northern England, and Northern Ireland, and an amber severe weather warning for intense winds have been issued in parts of the West Midlands.

MET Office says that the gales approaching the UK and the critical weather conditions affecting the Caribbean and the USA have no connection; however, some argue that climate change is a recurring factor as to why these intense weather conditions are happening frequently.

Sources:
http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/2017/09/12/uk-weather-storm-aileen-set-batter-britain-75mph-winds/
http://www.birminghammail.co.uk/news/midlands-news/what-you-should-stay-safe-13607342
http://www.metoffice.gov.uk/public/weather/warnings
http://www.loughboroughecho.net/news/local-news/storm-aileen-forces-loughborough-farmers-13608676

We can concede that the sea level is rising at an increasing rate:

- Sea level is rising at about 0.14 inches yearly. This may be caused by thermal expansion and warming of the ocean due to various human disturbances such as oil drilling, deforestation, and coal/oil burning. As the water heats up, it expands. These disturbances have increased heat trapping gasses, causing the planet to warm up.

The rise of sea level means that storm surges start to push farther inland, causing it to be fatal and dangerous. Sea level rise also contributes to frequent nuisance flooding.

- Sea surface temperatures have risen around 0.5C more, making the sea surface temperature in the region increase from 30.5C to 31C.

A hurricane requires very warm water and moist air to fuel it.

- For every 0.5C of warming, there is around a 3% increase in moisture in the air. As the sea surface temperature in the region rose 0.5C more, there was 3-5% more moisture in the air, which may have intensified the hurricane. This also may have increased the potential for much more severe rainfall and flooding.

Sources:
https://www.theguardian.com/commentisfree/2017/aug/28/climate-change-hurricane-harvey-more-deadly
http://www.insurancejournal.com/%E2%80%A6/sou%E2%80%A6/2017/05/31/452704.htm
https://www.epa.gov/climate-indicators/climate-change-indicators-sea-level
http://www.ucsusa.org/global_warming/science_and_impacts/impacts/infographic-sea-level-rise-global-warming.html#.WbmEK8ig_tQ
