         <description><![CDATA[<p>American Anthropologist Riall Nolan January 22 at 1pm Central Time.</p><p>He will be talking about professional development and career building for anthropologists outside of a academic setting. He will include the topics of CV writing, job search tips, interviewing and more. This webinar is for those who are interested into advancing to become graduate student and for those who have recently earned their PhD and looking for a way to practice their anthropology careers. </p><p>Riall Nolan received his DPhil in Social Anthropology from Sussex University in the UK in 1975. He specializes in international development, cross-cultural adaptation, and applied anthropology. His books that he has wrote are; Bassari Migrations (1986) , Communicating and Adapting Across Cultures (1999), Development Anthropology (2001) and his most recent book, Anthropology in Practice (2002). </p>]]></description>

         <title>Dian Fossey 82nd Birthday Today!</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<p>Dian Fossey was born 82 years ago in 1932. She was an american zoologists and undertook a extensive study of gorilla groups over a 18 year period. She would study these groups in the forests of Rwanda. Her major influence was Louis Leakey. </p><p>She fought for these Gorilla's from environment and human hazards. She actively saved these animals from game wardens, zoo poachers, and government officials who wanted to convert the gorilla's habit into farm land. On December 26, 1985, Dian Fossey was found and hacked to death, presumably by poachers, at her Rwandan forest camp. No assailant has ever been found or prosecuted in her murder.&nbsp;</p><p>Her work lives on today threw a foundation called Dian Fossey Gorilla Fund International.  </p>]]></description>
