When Dee got back she informed her family that she changed her name to Wangero. While she was with Mama and Maggie she asked for many heirlooms. When she was asked why she wanted them she replied that she would just put them on display. Wangero believes that the quilts hold great significance in their heritage and past. She thinks that having them displayed will maintain their value.
