Our group enjoyed playing a couple of rounds of this game.
A few benefits of this game, is that it encourages group talk, collaboration and input from all members, and engages students through a timed competitive activity, where they are working together not apart from one another! It is also a low-stakes activity, so all students, regardless of performance level or confidence, can participate and reap the benefits of group activity and math talk.

There was a total of 3 of us for this game. The first round we only got to about number 14. We felt like we didn't do that well. The second time around. we did much better and got to about 19. We felt like the second time around was easier because we had an idea of the pattern. We also felt that this would have been much easier as a face to face game where we had the chart right in front of us.

We discussed that having this activity as an ice breaker at the beginning of the year would be a great way to get students collaborating. This game would not only let students get to know one another, but also be competitive with their other classmates! It is a great conversation starter for groups!

Collaborative Number Game
Our group of 3 played two rounds of the game. The first time we were a little slower trying to find the numbers. The second time around we saw a pattern that each number was in a different quadrant. So it was easier to find the next number. I think we would have gotten further if we had another player.
