First impression: I respect the vulnerability you showed by speaking about wanting to push yourself outside of your comfort zone. Loved the approach of using this time to regain balance - it shows that you are very introspective and action oriented – if you see something that’s not perfect – you want to fix it!

Looking back: I really resonated with your story about feeling alone in a socially-hyped up place like Kellogg. I think you showed a lot of courage speaking about your mother – I cannot even imagine how hard it must have been to see a parent go through something like that. Hearing your stories what stayed with me was how your mom and grandmom and such great examples of resilience always overpowering adversity.

First impression: Willing to challenge the status quo and change things

Looking back: Julia it literally took me 2 minutes of talking to you and I immediately felt connected to you. I understand how it might feel when you want to be connected to someone but because of identity-related issues we aren’t able to. However, I can objectively tell you that your listening abilities and compassion (which is very evident through your mannerism and eye-contact) makes you someone that is superrrrr warm and can be very easy to get through to. I respect that so much!

Vision: Love your passion and vision for so many different themes of your life. You aim highly and will definitely be able to cover most of these. Your passion to learn more about other people, culture, and activities is really iconic and so inspiring.

Three words: Kind, because you exhibit kindness and softness through your body language from the first time I met you to most recent time I did. Humble, because you are able to understand your strengths and weaknesses and act in the best way based on them. Ambitious, because of how you have set your goals towards the cause of climate and energy and are super passionate even in front of multiple roadblocks and challenges.

My first impression was that you seemed slightly wounded after a tough summer. You mentioned wanting this year to be different and to make times for the things you hadn’t been able to accomplish last year. I recall you having a quietness about you that I was drawn to. Three Words that come to mind: When I think of you, the three words that come to mind are: serene, positive, and caring. Your serene presence emanates a peaceful and inviting energy that I deeply admire. Your positivity was exemplified when you spoke about the challenges you've encountered during the looking back exercise. My first impression of you was that you're extremely calm and relaxed. You have a soothing presence that I admire. You were bold and vulnerable with your looking back story and shared an experience that a lot of international students will resonate with. By taking a leap of faith stepping outside of Korea and coming to the US, you've perhaps unanchored yourself and I can't wait to see how you evolve into the best version of yourself. First Impression: Sincere, funny, open. Someone that was shy but also had a really strong group of friends surrounding her.

Looking Back: Your stories were told with much vulnerability which inspired me to be more open with what I was sharing. I loved how your grandmother learned to write an old age, what an amazing woman!

Visions: Loved every part of your vision board. I also aspire to learn an instrument someday, I think that would help bring many people a lot of peace. Also having pets, especially two of them, is the best! I highly recommend it.

My first impression is that you are adventurous and love exploring the unknown. Fitting in and inclusion was a key theme I heard that resonated with me as it is a thought that comes up often across social events. I also connected with your story about your grandma and how she was a key influence in your life, as my grandpa was a key figure in my life too.

You were a bit shy, reserved and you always seemed like you are thinking about what you will say and do. But after getting to know you more, I can see your big heart for everyone and how you never hold back your passion, compliment and positive energy towards people you feel drawn to.

Honestly, I don't know what you were talking about when you spoke negatively about your English skill because I thought you were one of those "ABK" when I first met you in our improv class. Don't sell yourself short on that! But I do feel every part of it about the challenge of getting blend in at Kellogg. I think most people struggle about it, even the people who have a happy face on their instagram stories every day. Hope you find your own balance soon!
