YVOC enlightened my mind with a brief history on how Red Cross formed, the seven principles that the organization lives up to, and their mission and vision. Red Cross is known for revolving around leadership, service, and volunteerism, and anything about helping the community, especially to those who are in need. As a Red Cross Youth Volunteer, I would apply what I learned during the webinar by donating goods to those affected by the recent typhoons that hit our country and those affected by the virus. I will also do my best in spreading awareness using any of my social media accounts in order for those to receive any updates about a certain issue as soon as possible.

I have learned that the RCY came from a long history of generous and active citizens that reach their help to the people in need. I have also learned that helping people does not need to be through financial support. The purpose of helping others is not because it can benefit us but because of the thought of humanity. I can apply these learnings when I work as a RCY Volunteer by being able to efficiently give my service to those who need my assistance.

I can apply the vision and mission of the organization as a Red Cross Youth Volunteer by immediately catering to all types of citizens who I will encounter in my daily life especially when I am in public areas. I will also make sure that the name of the organization will not be used in inappropriate ways and report incidents which may have caused harm to its name.

I learned this through the discussion about the history of the Red Cross and Red Crescent movement, the Battle of Solferino, and Jean Henri Dunant's book titled 'Un Souvenir de Solferino'. Overall, I really learned that the organization that I am hoping to be a part of is a really great and amazing organization.

I can use this in my work as a Red Cross Youth by living my life with the ideals of the organization in mind. The organization was made for an honorable purpose and as such I should work for that honorable purpose, the purpose to help and serve others.

The YVOC taught me the history of Red Cross etc.. One of the interesting insight I observed during YVOC is that around 80% of the members are volunteers, and I appear to be one of them. I can apply this by being an Red Cross Youth Volunteer by being willing to help others in need, not for personal gain/benefits and other deceitful intentions.

The most interesting insight that I learned during the YVOC and will show during my work as a RCY volunteer is equality and helping people no matter what raise they came from or what religion they believe in. I can apply this during my work as a RCY volunteer by not choosing who to help but instead helping everyone as much as I can. This is one learning i will keep in mind wherever I go.

The most interesting insight I've learned from the YVOC was the establishment of the RCY and its uses and misuses. I can apply them in my work as a RCY volunteer by trying my best to not stain the name of the Red Cross movement through the seven fundamental principles. Also, looking back at the purpose of the movement will help me stay on the right path and prioritize what is to be done.
