In the film it shows the side affects on the orca whales through there behavior and how they look physically.
How the director Gabriela
Cowperthwaite is she talks with the trainers of Sea World. The trainers talk about personal experiences with the dolphins and how they can tell the difference in there behavior. Physically there dorsal fin is collapsing. What this means is in the wild orcas dorsal fine stand straight up. On the other hand in Sea World there dorsal fin is falling over so it looks like an upside down U. They say this is because of where the orcas are kept they have no where to swim so there dorsal fin falls.

ACHIVING THE PURPOSE

Gabriela Cowerthwaite defiantly captured her purpose in this documentary. We know this because she used examples that proves her purpose. For example when she wants to prove that the orcas behavior changes from time to time. Towards the end of the film when they're talking about the break down of the death the bald guy says something along the lines of the orcas can tell you are running low on food by the sound of the ice and the fish were getting smaller. They say cause of that it could of also lead to the attack. Also in the film it talks about there physical features mostly about the dorsal fin. They said its from captivity, and the environmental change. The one thing they lacked in the film overall was the back ground information about Sea World. I feel like after I watched the film I really didn't learn about the history of Sea World and how it became what it is today.

After Black Fish I feel like it has taught me that animals shouldn't be kept in captivity. I say this because it has an awful affect on the animals. In the future I hope that they don't keep animals in captivity for are entertainment. I believe the animals should be kept in the wild. This also brings me to zoos i think that zoos should also release there animals back into the wild because i feel like the y go trough the same emotions that the orcas at Sea World go through. In the end I hope there is a way were we can all see these wonderful animals in a safe environment for us the people and the animals themselves.
