Where did Mao grow up?

Mao was born the son of a farmer on December 26, 1893 in Shaoshan, Hunan Province, China. He started at the local school when he was 13, when he also worked full time on the family farm.

Mao joined the revolution army in 1911 and fought against the Qing Dynasty.

After that he went back to school. He works as librarian then.

He did it by improving industry, with the help of the Soviet Union, by acquiring new technologies, increasing government and control of the country, especially over agriculture and reducing inflation.
