Roman Law was made over thousands of years from many different sources. When it grew, it grew almost without form, kind of all over the place. The sources were both written and unwritten. The Roman Law was still used even after the fall of the Western Roman Empire. It wasn’t tribal law more of personal law to show they were Roman, not Germanic. After its growth with Renaissance humanism, Roman Law became a bigger influence on the rest of the world.

Over the centuries Roman law has had a lot of changes and adaptations from all kinds of different sources. Even though it didn’t start as used outside of the Roman Empire it did end up spreading and in turn growing and changing. Thanks to Renaissance humanism so many European nations are now built off of Roman law.
