Red scare - the red scare demonstrated that america was willing to repress its democratic value in the name of national security to actively stop communism in its country. this frayed the relationship because the americans were accusing the soviets of spying on them.

delay of the opening of the second front, the russians thought that that the allies were peruposely delaying the opening of the second front to weaken the ussr and germany before they swoop in and take all the credit for ending the war. this sould weaken the USSR. this made the ussr suspicious of the allies and the relationship will be from GF BF to good friends

Jayden, Lucas, Hong Song:

US and USSR had ideological conflict before WWII. Both the USA and USSR had different beliefs and visions. For example, USA supported democracy while USSR supported communism. USA believed in freedom of speech, movement, and valued individual freedom. While USSR supported strong censorship with restrictions on what could be said or written, and valued protecting the interest of the society. These differences in values and beliefs caused tensions to arise between US and USSR, which made them see each others ideology as a threat which led to relationships deteriorating which also the reason why the tensions between both countries and resentment between both countries

one factor that contributed to the cold war is the wartime alliance between USSR and Allies, including USA. the war time alliance was an emergency arrangement against their common enemy, Germany. as the soviet forces suffered repeated defeats against the german forces, they seeked a military alliance with USA. however there were cracks in the alliance as one example was the perceived delay in the opening of a second front, where the soviet unions urged the allies to open a second front in France to relieve the pressure and end war quickly. however, USA and Britain could only provide economic aid and military supplies. their delay in opening for months during d-day landing caused the Russians to suspect American motives and interest, and Stalin suspected the allies hoped the delay would weaken the soviet union.as Germany and the Soviet Union would destroy each others in the process. This made USSR to become more suspicious of USA and deepened the distrust. This then eventually worsened the relationship between USSR and USA.

USA has an economical ideology named democracy while USSR idolises communism. As the USA hated communism because of its vision to destroy capitalism and wanted to prevent the spread of communism. Due to their competing ideologies, the USA and USSR were suspicious of each other. For example, USA started the Red Scare, which as a communism infiltration, to ensure the spread of communism in USA was stopped before it was too late. Due to their competing ideologies, the USA and USSR were suspicious of each other as they perceive each of their ideologies as a threat,, worsening the relationship of the two superpowers .-Akif,Nathan,Danial

explanation -

the prolonged opening of the second front which made Stalin even more suspicious. This long-standing suspicion meant that even when the US and USSR were allies during WWII, they still viewed each other with distrust. Because of this deep-rooted hostility, when WWII ended, both nations already saw each other as adversaries, making the Cold War inevitable.

vv chloe

the wartime alliance was an emergency arrangement against common enemy which is Germany. Soviet Union (USSR) suffered many defeats as German forces were very strong. So USSR, America (USA) and Britain decided to form a military alliance. However, there were cracks in the alliance, for example, the perceived delay in the opening of a second front. this misunderstanding caused USSR to become even more weaker as USSR thought USA and Britian was also fighting but instead USSR was fighting alone which made USSR loose even more Resources to fight. this lead to increased Russian suspicion of americans motives and interests, even though americans argued that they needed more time to organise roops until they were sure of success. This factor contributed to the early tensions of the cold war as it worsened their relationship between the USSR and US
