The effect of tariffs and Charles G. Dawes on Britain and France

America raised their tax to 60 percent on imports. Thus trying to have people buy american made products. Doing this made it hard for Britain and France to sell goods to america and pay off war debts. Now that the taxes were raised on american imports Britain and France looked to Germany to pay them for war reperations so they could get money. America had a genius idea that would help them make money. The Dawes plan was to loan Germany the money so that they could pay Britain and France. So Britiain and France would pay America and Germany would pay back the loan. Essentially America gave money to Germany so that they could give that money to Britain and France, and Britain and France would pay america their money and Germany would also pay the loan. America was getting paid with their own money from Britain and France and making money from Germany paying back the loan.

Throughout the big changes in the 1920s pop culture was changing just like the lives of the people. Jazz was one way. It was a way to let people give their emotions about the time period through music that was performed. Many artists took advantage of the boom like : Jelly Roll Morton made a move on the newest pop culture.

Why Hardings friends were snakes

Harding's cabinet were also his friends. They used his buisness plan of expanding buisnesses and making the government to make themselves wealthier. Without Harding knowing his cabinet became very corrupt. They would use the office in inappropiate ways. One example is the head of the vetrans bereau, Charles R. Forbes, was selling government and hospital supplies to make money without harding knowing.

The Great Migration

There were basically 3 main reasons why the great migration happened. First blacks moved to the north to escape racial discrimination. They were sick of getting treated like crap. They wanted better lives for their kids and that couldn't happen with living in the south with all that discrimination. Secondly drought and floods, and a bug called the boll weevil which feeds on cotton plants, was ruining the cotton fields making it hard to find work. In the north african americans were able to find more jobs and better ones. For example Henry Ford opened up his assembly for automobils to black workers in 1914. Finally living up in the north would make it better for their kids and themselves. They would be making more money and the kids could go to school and africans americans gain the right to vote. Their lives just became better overall after moving up to the north.

During the 1920s the American life changed gradually. One thing that the United States always closely monitored was economics. Infrastructure was booming and and products were being shipped and imported from all around the world.

Transportation:
Transportation changed for the better of the American Life. Automobiles were now affordable for the moderate American and was a much faster and easier way of transporting from place to place. This sparked a whole new industry for the people.

Disadvantages:
To farmers, this change of time where everything is now turning into electronics and motor powered things hurt their businesses. During WWI the demand for food and livestock was in high demand. But soon after the boom of automotive inventions, prices of sales dropped and many farmers went bankrupt with the result of loosing their farms.
