You also need to have time set aside to practice your instrument on your own.
Before you begin a rehearsal you need to plan which pieces that you are going to play and you must have practiced to have some prior knowledge of the pieces that you are going to be playing. In addition you need a rehearsal space and your instruments, and also the time that you are rehearsing planned out.
You need amps, speakers, and your instruments. Everyone needs to know how to play an instrument and you have to be able to work together really well as a team. You have to have the same sort of music pieces that everyone will like because if everyone has different tastes then the band will not work.
You can find music on places like YouTube where there are lots of videos with multiple parts of pieces  that will have a part for everyone to play. You should try to remind and support them to go beyond their way to do the stuff you planned on doing.
Equipment depends, you could start a clapping group if you wanted. But usually there's like a guitar or bass or piano member. Usually.
I recommend someone to not give up unless you've formed the band for 2 years and haven't practiced at all like not even once. But if you aren't giving up then totally become the most villainous person who reminds them every second a day.
Practice, practice, practice and learn new things. 
Don't think that being wrong is the dead end. Be forgiving... or it's totally not worth it if you're going to be suffering every second without progress and end up with an even worse mind.
