1 /1 Why do we love?
Romantic love is heartbreaking, and soul-croushing. Why do we choose to put ourselves through its emotional wringer? Does love are escape from are loneliness and suffering? Or love is a trick of biology to make us procreate?
Is it all we need?
Some of our most respected philosophers have put forward some intriguing theories.
1.Plato: Love makes us hole, again.
He explored the idea that we love in order to become complete. Long time ago, humans has 2 heads, 4 arms, 4 legs. One day they angered the Gods, and Zeus sliced all in two. Since then, everybody miss them other half. Love is the longing to find our soulmate who will make us feel hole again.
2.Schopenhauer: Love tricks us into having babies. He maintained that love based in sexual desire was a voluptuous illusion. Our desires makes us to believe, that we need another person to make us happy. But we are sorely mistaken. The truth is that the nature is tricking us to procreating. But when our sexual desires are satisfied, we are thrown back into our tormented existences.
3.Russel: Love is escape from our loneliness. We love in order to quench our physical and psychological desires. Humans are designed to procreate, but without the ecstasy of passionate love, sex is unsatisfying. Our fear of the world tempts us to build shells to protect ourselves. But if we build a big shell around us, we will remain alone, and this will make sure that we do not break them apart from the shells. But love is great to escape from our loneliness, and our lonely shells. And engage more abundantly in life.
4.Buddha: Love is a wisleading affliction. Love is a great source off suffering.
5.The Chinese novelist: He said that: "Romantic love is folly." In a Chinese novels, the hero falls in love with a girl who tricks and humiliates him.He got a magic mirror from a man,but he musn't look at the front of the mirror. But the man looked into the mirror, and then he died. So love brings tragedy.
6.Franch girl: Love let's us reach beyond ourselfes. She purposed that love is the desire to integrate with another and that it infuses our lives with meaning. She interested that how we can love better. Romantic love is can be so captivating, that we are tempted to make it our only reason for being. To avoid this trap we have to love authentically. Authentically loving is more than a great friendship,
lovers support each other in discovering themselves, reaching beyond themselves.
Do we need love? Maybe, because love is a good and a very difficult thing at the same time. Good because it makes you feel happy, and like you're flying in the heaven. And difficult, because of quarrels and problems.

II/2 Black Cat

The black cat

written by: Edgar Allan Poe

Our story’s main character is an “animal friendly “man, who has many pets and likes to take care of them. But there’s one special,Pluto the black cat.The man has a wife,he says they have similar personalities. They are almost identical. The women is very supersticious. She thinks that black cats are witches. So Pluto isn’t a good choice for them.At the beginning, the man treats his pets very affectionately, but in the end his attitude towards the cat begins to change. Our main character struggles with alcohol problems,so day after day,the narrator speaks and acts violently with his wife and his pets.He will abuse and kill Pluto, because it bit the man. That night the man woke up because his curtain was burning in his bedroom, and in the morning the whole house was burned down. However later he met a cat in the pub which was very similar to Pluto. He felt remorse because of hanging his first cat so he took it home. This is where we find out what is this person really like.Because he’ll kill this cat too along with his wife. The cruel and cold blooded man wouldn’t break even after his wife’s death. He’ll chop up the body and hide it in the basement. The police starts looking for his wife and investigates the house. When the police are leaving they can hear a big loud scream from the wife’s grave. Then the cops after a little hesitation caught him with weapons.

I liked this story because it wasn’t an everyday case and because it was exciting to read it.

2/1 Life and work of Edgar Allan Poe
Edgar Allan Poe

Was born in: January 19, 1809

Died:October 7, 1849.He was an American writer, editor, and literary critic. Poe is best known for his poetry and short stories, particularly his tales of mystery and the macabre. He was born Edgar Poe in Boston on January 19, 1809, the second child of English-born actress Elizabeth Arnold Hopkins Poe and actor David Poe Jr. He had an elder brother William Henry Leonard Poe, and a younger sister Rosalie Poe. His father abandoned their family in 1810, and his mother died a year later from consumption (pulmonary tuberculosis). Poe's literary career began in 1827 with the release of 50 copies of Tamerlane and other poems credited only to "a Bostonian", a collection of early poems that received virtually no attention. In December 1829, Poe released Al Aaraaf, Tamerlane, and Minor Poems in Baltimore before delving into short stories for the first time with "Metzengerstein" in 1832. His most successful and most widely read prose during his lifetime was "The Gold-Bug",which earned him a $100 prize, the most money he received for a single work. One of his most important works, "The Murders in the Rue Morgue", was published in 1841 and is today considered the first modern detective story. Poe died in Baltimore on October 7, 1849, at age 40; the cause of his death is unknown and has been variously attributed to alcohol, brain congestion, cholera, drugs, heart disease, rabies, suicide, tuberculosis, and other agents.
