The first article outlines and establishes the Legislative branch: the Senate and House of Representatives. It lays out their powers, defines how representatives are chosen, and how Congress is structured. The article lays the blueprint for the two areas of the branch; for example, a representative must be 25 years old and their term is two years, while a senator must be 30 years old and their term is 6 years.

The second article establishes the Executive branch of our government: the president of the United States. It outlines their term, one of four years, and tells us that presidents, with their respective vice president, will be elected by the states. It also defines the president's responsibilities and powers.

The third article outlines the Judicial branch of the United States: the Supreme Court, the highest court in America. The judges serving on the Supreme Court hold their position until they so choose to retire or until they die. It also defines the structure of the court and trials by jury.

Article 4

The fourth article addresses and outlines the relationships between states. It explains that each state must have "full faith" in the laws and judicial decisions of other states and respect them, as well.

Article 5

The fifth article establishes the idea of amending the constitution and allows the government to propose changes and alterations to the document. By allowing this, it gives the United States the freedom to always maintain the ideals of the Constitution.

Article 6

The sixth article establishes the Constitution as the "Supreme Law of the Land," or the Supremacy clause. It states that all laws and treaties made from here on out should be made in accordance with the Constitution.

Article 7

The seventh and final article of the document specified the requirements for the passing of the Constitution. Within the article, it states that the Constitution must be ratified by 9 states to be put into effect, acknowledging further the democratic groundfloor of the United States.
