Drake was very involved with the railroad before moving towards the oil industry. After retirement of the railroad business, Drake became involved with stockholders of an oil company. Because of the interest in obtaining more oil, Drake was sent to Titusville, Pennsylvania. This expedition led Drake to be sent to settle in Titusville, where he was put on a mission to obtain oil. In order to get this oil, Drake came up with new techniques that allowed oil to flourish in this part of the United States. The technique required drilling in the ground, which had several accommodations in order to be the most proficient. Because Drake did not obtain a patent off this, he did not receive any credit and lived poor most of his life. As time went past his death, Drake finally got recognized and was given commemorations.
https://www.britannica.com/biography/Edwin-Laurentine-Drake

Realizing the work that was needed for this project, Howe wanted to invent a machine for clothing. Howe's aspiration to achieve this machinery caused him to work on his free time for this project. By 1846, Howe developed the sewing machine with a patent that was given to him. This patent did not grant Howe as the inventor of the sewing machine, till Howe realized that people were profiting from his invention. After realizing the noncredit, Howe fought it off and obtained his profit till the patent ended in 1867.

https://www.britannica.com/biography/Elias-Howe

Fulton grew up and went to school to become an artist. By spending most of his time on art, Fulton realized that it was not a career for him. As soon as Fulton quit on the idea of becoming an artist, Fulton became interested and involved in the waterways of ships. Fulton grew with ideas about inventions of canals, submarines, and even steamboats. One of the famous things that Fulton is known for are steamboats. Fulton's steamboats traveled at a much faster rather than the monopoly of steamboats that existed. I order to obtain a perfect steamboat, Fulton went through several tests and failures. Fulton even partnered up with the monopoly holder of steamboats, which was Robert Livingston. Robert Fulton at the end, obtained success and was able to achieve a functional steamboat.
https://www.britannica.com/biography/Robert-Fulton-American-inventor

Deere did not receive a full education at school, did get the chance of learning on how ti be a blacksmith. Much of these skills were not being used in Vermont, which caused him to move to Illinois. Illinois was popular with farming techniques, which caused Deere to focus on the agricultural part of blacksmith. Seeing the heaving plows that most used for farming, Deere was inspired to innovate this technique. Deere noticed that plows were not designed for the heavy soil of America. This cause him to invent the steel plow for special agricultural accommodations. Because of the Deere invention, he started a company that is still active today in providing people with agricultural tools needed.
https://www.deere.com/en/our-company/about-john-deere/past-leaders/john-deere/

After serving the U.S. as a soldier, Westinghouse became interested in the industrial world and investing his money. During the mid's of the 19th century, Westinghouse had already received about 100 patent or more. Westinghouse's interest for inventions grew and brought him to purchase patents for his own creations. Most of Westinghouse's attention was given to railroads. which gave him a chance to focus and develop the brake system. With this brake system, the world has drifted from it and developed automobiles like trains and cars, which require this integration.

https://www.britannica.com/biography/George-Westinghouse
