Back in the 1970's there were many amazing kid favorited toys. But sometimes parents got involved and made the toy companies produce educational toys. One of them was The Johnny Horizon Environmental Test Kit. This was a kit to test the air and water for pollution. But a kid favorite game was a See-N-Say Toy. Little boys loved them because they had blinking LED lights. In 1979 some of them didn't have the LED lights so the little boys did not want them anymore.

In the early seventies women's clothes was bright colors, extreme, long. When women wore skirts and pants they were most likely to be very long and flowy so they would be all of the place when walking. This is in the winter. In the summer women's clothes was full of short shorts and skin tight shirts. Also women loved to use roller skates in the summer back in the 70's.

I believe that S.E. Hinton uses/alters history in her book by using information that is true but also uses information which is not true. Hinton talks about the Greasers and Socs and those are labels they get because one group is rich and the other is group is poor. While in reality we never gave people those kinds of names. We really only call them the rich and the poor. This is how I believe S.E. Hinton uses/alters history in her book.
