  • 2 sextants- this would be helpful because they would need to know the latitude and the longitude for each ara that they explored.

    •       2) Compass- so that when the make the maps then they could know where an area was fro example the west or the east part of the region is where ...is located. 
          3) hatchet- so that they could chop up trees for fires and they could use it to cut open animals ,I chose this instead of a sw because it has multiple different uses.   
          4)10 1/2 pounds of fishing hooks and fishing lines- So that they could catch fish for eating. 
          5)tourniquets- so that they could stop a wound from bleeding so that they person survived and did not die.

She joined the Corps of Discovery  when she was 16 /17. When Lewis and Clark met her they included her for a few different reason. 1 because she was a source of communication with the other tribes. 

    #2:    York was an enslaved man  owned by william Clark ,later he became a member of the Corps of Discovery.Eh was the only one out of the Original Corps that was married. He was mentioned  a lot in the Journal that were kept though the course of the discovery. The journal said that he was able to hunt ,this was unusual because African Americans were not aloud to handle guns .He was also the first African American to vote equal to that of a white man.

    Animal: Sir John  Richardson  published the first Scientific description  in 1820 it said “the small grey squirrel common to every part of the rocky mountain which is timbered, differs from the dark brown squirrel 1 . . . only in its colour.    it's back, neck, sides, head, tail and outer side of the legs are of a brown lead coloured grey; the tail has a slight touch of the fox colour near the extremity of some of the hairs. “   This was a just a brief description that he had said that the squirrel.

According to the The site it says that they “ Teton culture concerned the tribe’s relationship with their Arikara neighbors. The Tetons made their military might very clear to the Arikaras...The Arikara were great farmers, and their corn crop was essentia” this shows that  they  were essential for the survival of the Tetons.They did help lEwis and Clark later on,but at first the tribe did not like them like they did the Arikaras
