1. Harry's friends and family want to protect him no matter what, even if it means putting their lives out on the line for him, therefore the prophecy will still be fulfilled.
2. Harry is frightened when he learns of the prophecy, because he knows how big of a responsibility it is.
3. No, Harry should not because he has to fulfill the prophecy and needs to find a way to defeat Voldemort.
4. Yes, because I would know how to prepare for my future better.
5. They are connected, because they both include a main character who tries to escape their prophecy, but in both the prophecy finds it's way back to them, even if they don't know it.

1

Dumbledore is always watching over Harry and was forced to explain the prophecy. Harry’s parents also lose their lives to protect him.

Now that harry knows about Prophecy, he is very uncertain about how is he gonna handle his actions.

No because if he changes the prophecy it will anger Voldemort which can lead to an even greater punishment. Changing his future could alter Voldemort's plan.

I would want to know my future, but at the same time I wouldn't. I would want to know my future to avoid any deaths or tragedies that occur, but I also wouldn't want to know everything because my life becomes boring.

The two stories are similar because Harry is left to be killed just like Oedipus, he is left on a mountain side. Also the prophecy connects the two stories because both, Harry and Oedipus are not able to escape their flaws and are forced down a path of evil.

He is scared of the prophecy and for his friends that will risk their lives to keep him safe. He feels that their is a burden on his shoulders.
3. No, he should not because Voldemort is alive and Harry cannot escape the prophecy that he is destined to live and do.
4. No, I would not want to hear it because I would like things to happen unexpectedly and without knowing what will happen. Life is a surprise.
5. Harry Potter and Oedipus Rex are alike because they both have prophecies that neither of them can escape. They both try to escape it but it fails. The only thing that is different between them is that Harry Potter succeeds in his journey while Oedipus has a sad and tragic ending to his.

1.) How does the prophecy explain the actions of those around Harry?

The prophecy explains to Harry that the actions of everyone around him is protecting him because they all know he is in grave danger. He explains how everyone is Harry´s life chooses to risk their own life to protect him and keep him safe because the prophecy must live on. Harry especially needs all the protection he can get because as long as he is alive, Voldemort will try to kill him.

2.) How might Harry feel now that he knows his prophecy?

Harry feels frightened by the fact that he must fight against one of the most powerful wizards. He also feels sorrow because it is his fault that his loved ones and friends have to sacrifice their lives protecting Harry so he can live. He would also feel pressured because the outcome of Harrys action will determine everyone elses fate.

3.) Should he alter his plans/actions now? Why or why not

Harry should not alter his plans because Voldemort has already returned. Harry has been practicing for an immensely long time for his plan against him, and so he cannot just change his plans for what he has worked so hard for. Harry must not run from his problems and should face them straight on no matter his fear because he can not escape the prophecy he was born into.

4.)
