Here is my adventure story from the Montenegro spring trip in 2015.
That day I spent in Perast, a calm and tiny likeable place, actually a village. I wander along the water's edge, read something on a tablet, took some panoramic photos, drew sketches of surroundings, talked to an owner of a trip boat, had dinner in a cute cafe...Truly, it was such a relaxing and slow-motion day for me, even more, totally rejuvenating, so I ended up missing the last bus to Kotor, where I lived. Desperately I tried calling the bus station. No answer. The hope to catch a really last bus perished. Additionally, it was a rather long way to return on foot, so I got nervous. In fact, I was.
.....continued in the next padlet

It came to me in a flash. Hitch-hiking. Well, I was not used to it, though I had practiced it a couple of times before. Meanwhile, I found myself standing next to the motorway and asking "to do or not to do". Consequently I came to an amenable decision: if I got the Sign, I would try hitch-hiking. Surprisingly I got it in a minute or two. A car stopped close to me. A smartly dressed middle-aged woman stepped out of the car and started taking photos of the magnificent vistas of Perast. I knew that was it.
As a result, I got aсquainted with a friendly travelling couple from Graz, Austria. At parting, I presented them with a matryoshka and felt proud of myself.
Genuinely, it was both the most relaxing and adventurous day of my vacation.
by
Anna Smolyanova

It was hot July evening in Ottawa. I was going next to the park when I heard a sound that definitely reminded me the Scottish bagpipe. I decided to go into the park and check out what was going on over there.
Entering the park, I saw a lot of people of all the ages who sat on the folding chairs and formed kind of a circle. Aside from the sitting crowd, a music band stood and rehearsed. All of the musicians wore the traditional Scottish kilts. Some of them played on bagpipes, another on drums.
I went around the park and saw another music band which also was rehearsing.
When the show officially started the first music band "Songs of Scotland" came out to the public, forming the circle and starting to play amazing Scottish music. Then the second music band "Rocky Mountain" from Alberta, if I remember well, presented its performance. After that, all musicians from two bands grouped one big circle and played Scottish music. Drummers surprised me with their drumsticks perfected movements.
Leaving the park, the thought crossed my mind how dedicated the musicians were. And what an honour to be the part of any group to be able to contribute into the common cause.

by
Viktoria Krasiukova

It happened on the Keret river in North Karelia last September. Our band of three guys and two girls decided to take the extreme route and at the same time to do fishing. Our boys armed with rods actively tried to catch at least some fish. We crossed the river kilometer by kilometer, but fish was out. At the end the last threshold remained. My friend Yana and I went to see it. And there we saw how fish was splashing in boiling water among rocks. My friend grabbed my clothes, I went into the water and caught a huge fish with my bare hands. When we brought our catch to guys they were shocked. Here's a female fishing
by Natasha Gritsenko

In Greece. We were in Greece five years ago. We travelled across all country by tourist bus. I would like to share with you three the most interesting places which we observed in Greece. I begin my description in order. The first place was Meteory of course. Suca a beautiful and fairy part of the country with bizarre rocks. The next place is Delphi which is famous as the ancient sanctuary that grew rich as the seat of the oracle that was consulted on important decisions throughout the ancient classical world. Moreover, it was considered as the center of the world by the Greeks. At the end of our bus travel, we visited Athens, the city with ancient historical monuments. Doubtless, the final part of our visit to Greece was the rest on the sea. We were on islands named Halkidika.

Several years ago I travelled to Sri Lanka. During 2 weeks I visited a lot of places. I moved each day to different places. I went only by public buses which were not comfortable, without conditioners, and I often stood in the buses. Though at the time Sri Lanka was not expensive and I could afford to move by comfortable buses or taxi. But it was my choice, because this is the only way which gives you knowledge about people and their way of life. Going by buses I knew that the Sri Lankans are very sympathetic, kind and smiling people. When I went to the bus that people started to smile, asked me questions and offered help. It was my first experience moving by public buses abroad. Now I try moving within the country this way when I travel.

My travel story. Four years ago we both – I and my husband – decided to spend our holiday in South Europe (in Spain) and get there by car. We took with us our dogs and started off our travel equipped with navigator, food for the start, some necessary items like a charger, a photo camera, a paper map, car tools, a spare wheel and some other things. First, we thought to stay in campings, but in the end, we decided to hire motels nearby a road. The first night we spent in Poland, and seeking our motel wasn't easy. It was located in the deep of the forest. The second night we spent in Strasburg (France), we discovered a small and very nice family hotel by happenstance and enjoyed a beautiful river where our dogs could relax and spent their time swimming. Our dogs like swimming very much. At the end of our way (it was the third day of our journey) we were deadly tired, but very happy to get to our home in Spain. We felt so happy that we could do nothing except dreaming and sunbathing next two days.

Last winter I and my friend Olga travelled to Thailand. We waited for this trip very much, and, of course, we wanted to change a cold winter for a hot summer. We didn't take any warm clothers and it wasn't a good idea. A two-days trip on the river Kwai must have been really exciting, however the weather suprised us. There was only 15 degrees Celsius and strong rain and we had to swim and walked in the jungle! Moreover, it was snowing in some parts of the country! So, it was really suprised, but it made our trip more memorable and exciting. We went elephant riding, saw swimming market, had Thai massage, swam in a mountain lake and warmed the bed by hairdryer:)
So don't forget about warm clothes!:)
Svetlana D.

I watched the movie "Eat, Pray, Love" and went on a trip to Asia for three months. My goal was to find out myself and understand my life. I went to Asia for the first time. I traveled alone and saw 6 countries: Malaysia, Laos, Thailand, Vietnam, Singapore and Hong Kong. I talked a lot with travelers from all over the world and found we have a lot in common with them. I learned a lot about different traditions and cultures. I tried the local cuisine, attended traditional holidays, lived on paradise islands and walked around the noisy metropolises. I experienced the fear of riding a taxi-bike along the bustling streets of Bankok, I bathed under the cold streams of a waterfall in the south of Laos. I walked around the night markets and danced all night at island parties. I will never forget this time. I came back again as a different person. Travel changes us!

By Christina.

Discovery of the Jewish world

The best holiday in my life was in Israel with the project for Jewish young people. It was a Russian speaker group 50 people from different countries, with varied stories of their life and sundry expectations. I was worried if we could find something close for one's heart and become friends. But everything was incredible!
We have been staying in the best apartments, eating the best food and enjoying to the fullest.
Despite the tiredness, our interest was higher than physical needs. We had maximum six hours of sleep, but always listened the history of country, went to Hiking on the desert, climbed on the rock, swam in three seas, in one of which did scuba diving. Besides, each one identified their connection with the Jewish world, found an offbeat way for life, opened up something new in oneself.
Additional, travel in Israel is story about people. Israelis are extremely cheerful, open minded, helpful and easy going.
This holiday is forever in my memory.

By Jane D.
