More often I think the male gaze at women comes from the male stereotype of women as "sexy" dressers. Either way, it is undoubtedly not friendly (both of which also apply to the male gaze at what men perceive to be "feminine"). Women themselves tend to lose their confidence, so they may dress or behave in a way that 'pleases' men, given the social environment. Not only do they lose their own style, but in forcing themselves to behave in this way, they also make themselves more anxious and unhappy, and there are many cases where a lack of confidence in their own body image, for example, leads to jealousy and depression. It may take a long time to truly reconcile with oneself, and it will take a change in the social climate and an adjustment of one's own mentality. I hope everyone can be healthy and happy.
