Web 2.0 is more directed towards communities of people and not the individual, as Web 3.0 focuses more on the individual user. Web 2.0 is the motions of utilizing the internet and Web 3.0 is the behavior and meaning behind those interactions.
Web 3.0 expands on artificial intelligence, making it much smarter than Web 2.0.

Advertising in Web 2.0 is going to be more interactive, maybe allowing you to answer a question or have you watch a video. Wikipedia is a great example of Web 2.0, as it allows users to comment and suggest edits, or edit themselves. Users can share information and content to other users. Wikipedia has communities which exhibit different focuses, so fans of a TV show or a movie can go learn about those on their specific Wiki page.

This is where you begin to see focused advertising based on the user. The internet becomes more focused on the behavior of its user and reflects that behavior in its processing and advertising. Web 3.0 is going to allow people to have access to any part of the internet, whether that is through mobile apps, hardwired connections, or live streams. Its advanced technology allows the interpretation of phrases instead of matching searches word for word.
