When I asked her to head HEX with me, she took the opportunity willingly. Being a freshie handling such a big event right away must have been scary for her. But she did it anyway. She took every chance to learn, took feedback well, and knew how to look at good leadership models. Her taking that step opened up even more leadership doors within the organization. With each opportunity she took, she allowed herself to grow into a leader others look up to.

I cannot think of anyone more fit to lead the events cluster. I have no doubt that Leanne will transform the cluster and MISA into something so great. I am excited to see her impact on the organization.

She's assertive but doesn't lose her fun side, and has experience in solving problems on the go. I believe she can commit to her position, and do it in service of the org, not just for fancy titles or recognition. She's also a very fun person! Her leadership is neither seditious nor patronising, but respectful and unpretentious.

Moreover, Leanne is really helpful! I'm not from MIS (and even if I get really intimidated by her sometimes), but I know that she's definitely trustworthy, and that I can chat her up if I need help anytime. Likewise, Leanne knows that she has a friend in her constituents, and can approach us as colleagues. I know she'll bring more to the table than we expect.

With Leanne, her reax emojis are not the only thing that slaps for sure!

She gave me and my fellow committee head the freedom to explore the ideas and plans that we would want to do but at the same time made sure we stayed on the right path that would lead to a successful project. From what I have noticed, Leanne is flexible in terms of planning and goal-setting as she always makes sure everyone's input can be heard, but also knows when she needs to step in and make the decision for everyone. She is also not afraid to admit mistakes and is willing to do the effort to amend those and even ask for help from us. She gives constructive criticism that helps us focus on our weak points and become better leaders ourselves. From the perspective of a core team member that has worked under her, I can confidently say that she has the potential to take the position of VP for Events with a little bit of help and guidance along the way. As a friend, she's a b055 🤬 I know that she has good intentions for the org and that Events will be in good hands with her taking the lead.
