Although cities have come a long way, we are far from reducing our negative impact on the environment as much as we can.  Government officials and agencies are actively working to find solutions. However, the public must participate in order for us to see results. One example of the environment affecting New York citizens is through drinking water. There are two harmful chemicals such as PFOA and PFOS that are found in New York's drinking water. Many citizens remain vulnerable to the negative effects of these chemicals today. One way New York affects the climate is by producing a large amount of waste. It is important that we reduce our emissions to aid in the prevention of climate change.
