STEP ONE:  ANYTIME you try and write in any text box such as this big pink one, you HAVE to click on the 3 dots in the upper right hand corner first, and then hit edit. Then you can type. This is also what you need to do right now in order to make sense of everything I am writing below! 

When you are in edit mode, you will see 5 icons on the bottom of this text box: 

The first icon  (arrow pointing up) is to upload anything you have saved to your computer / ipad such as documents, other downloads, pictures, etc.

The next icon looks like a chain link. This is to add a LINK from the internet. To add a link from a website, such as Lexia, you have to be on Lexia in a different browser window, highlight then right click the web address to click COPY, then once you hit this link icon, you can then right click and hit PASTE. 

The magnifying glass is the middle icon - this is to search any images right here on padlet. If you want a picture of a flower, you simply type flower up top and then a whole bunch of images of flowers will come up. Whatever you want you just click on and it will upload to this text box. The students and parents aren't going to be able to do anythign with this image other than view it. It is just to add some flare to the text box. 

The camera icon is second to last. This will bring up your camera on your laptop/ ipad but ONLY if you download the app I believe.. You can still upload pictures and videos using that first "upload" icon all the way to the left. 

Lastly, the three dots all the way to the right will bring up a drop down menu for all of these options. It's all the same : ) 

TO ADD A NEW TEXT BOX... ( Ex: MATH, ELA, SCIENCE, SPECIAL, ETC...)
You have to be out of "edit mode" so you just click on the background picture to do that. Then you will see a circle with a plus sign. Click this and you have yourself a new text box. PLEASE NOTE - it posts the most recent text box on the top. So right now as I am writing this, I know that the next text box I make is going to go on top of this one. To change this setting, go to the top right of this page, and click settings - the icon looks like a gear wheel.
