X-rays are a type of electromagnetic radiation. X-rays send particles through out the body and then the images

are recorded on computer or printed picture. Parts of the body that are dense like bones will block X-rays

particles and bones etc. will appear white. Metal and other mechanical media will also appear white. Thats why

doctors use X-rays in surgeries so they can find the harmed bones or metal objects in the body. Body parts such as

muscle, fat and empty areas are appeared grey or black. X-rays are mostly painless, maybe sometimes uncomfortable

positions may be needed but its mostly harmless. X-rays may have a rare chance of to give you cancer

and defects if you face X-ray radiations over time. X-rays are more sensitive to babies in womb. Xrays were accidentaly

discovered by Wilhem Rongten in 1895.

LASIK stands for "Laser-assisted in situ keratomileusis" meaning laser eye surgery

This highly specialized laser uses cool ultraviolet beam to remove small ammount

of eye tissue from the cornea to reshape it so it more accurately focuses light on

the retina for improved vision. For nearsighted people they flatten the cornea but

for farsighted people, a "steeper cornea is desired. After the reshape of the cornea

they lay back the flip part of the cornea to covering where the tissue was removed.

Then the cornea is allowed heal naturally. With this technic no bandages or stitiches

are needed. Physics helped us alot in this surgery to avoid accidents or harm to the

eye!

Ultrasound are a type of imaging, it uses high frequency

sound waves to locate and view the organs in the body.

Doctors use ultrasound to view heart, liver, kidney, blood vessels

and other organs. For example during pregnancy the doctors use

it to view the fetus. Ultrasound is different compare to X-rays

because ultrasounds do not expose you to radiation unlike X-rays.

In an ultrasound test, when you lie down on the table, a professio-

nal doctor moves a device called "transducer" over part of your

body. It sends out sound waves which bounce around in your

body. The transducer collects and captures back the soundwaves.

Then the transducer creates images based on the sound waves.
