I think the quote "Reading leads you to a deeper understanding of the world" means that as you read, you soon understand the message and meaning of the text. An example from "By The Waters of Babylon" would be during paragraph 14 and 15 where the spirit says "It is forbidden to travel east. It is forbidden to cross the river. It is forbidden to go to the Palace of Gods. All these things are forbidden." This means that John must go on his journey without going to those areas and disobey the spirit.

An example from"By the waters of Babylon" would be during paragraph 45 and 46 Now I tell what is very strong magic. I woke in the midst of the night. when I woke, the fire had gone out and I was cold. seemed to me that all around me there were whispering's and voices. why should I lie about it? I am a priest and the son of a priests as they say, in the email dead places near us, what spirits must there not be in that great place of the gods? And would not they wish to speak? After such long years? I know that I felt myself drawn as a fish is drawn on a line. I had stepped out of my body I could see my body asleep in front of the cold fire, but it was not I. I was drawn to look out upon the city of the gods.

I believe that the quote "Reading leads you to a deeper understanding of the world" means that the more you read something, the more you are going to understand how this world works. And by reading, you learn of the many lessons in life. In the text in paragraph 54 it says, "That is all of my story, for then I knew he was a man—I knew then that they had been
men, neither gods nor demons. It is a great knowledge, hard to tell and believe. They
were men—they went a dark road, but they were men." This piece of evidence shows a very important lesson, it shows that not all stories are true.

I think “Reading leads you to a deeper understanding of the world". Means not only to read but use your mind to learn things , also to deepen your knowledge by picking up a book and learning about it. It can be about what’s going on in today’s world or science but whatever you read actually open your mind to learn to get a better understanding of what you are reading . So in this quote it’s talking about to read more and open your mind to learn about new things.

"I believe that the quote "Reading leads you to a deeper understanding of the world" means that as your progress in a text or a read aloud you soon get a deeper understanding of the books and meaning, and what it is trying to explain or say about the world. In the text Paragraph 56 it states that "He said, "Truth is a hard deer to hunt. If you eat too much truth at once, you may die of the truth. This quote goes to show that some stores gives advice not only to the characters in the story but to the reader to.

I believe that the quote "Reading leads you to a deeper understanding of the world" means that as you read more and more, you begin to understand things about this world that you may not have already known. It means that it will teach you lessons, help you learn things and give you a creative outlet to imagine things about this world. In paragraph 23, it states that "I went to the Place of the Gods, I would surely die, but, if I did not go, I could never be at peace with my spirit again. It is better to lose one's life than one's spirit, if one is a priest and the son of a priest." This to me shows how reading can teach you these kinds of lessons and they will make you keep on wandering things about the world, yourself and whats around you.

The quote ¨Reading leads you to a deeper understanding of the world¨ is telling us how reading helps open our eyes on what is going on in the world. I believe this quote means that reading gives us different perspectives of what other people are going through in the world. In paragraph 57 it states ¨Nevertheless, we make a beginning. it is not for the metal alone we go to the Dead
Places now—there are the books and the writings. They are hard to learn. And the
magic tools are broken—but we can look at them and wonder.´ This quote shows us how books are so important in learning about the past and can help us get ¨a deeper understanding of the world.¨
