  • دراسة أسباب تلاشي الطبقة العليا للغلاف الجوي للمريخ عبر تتبع سلوكيات ومسار خروج ذرات الهيدروجين والأوكسجين، والتي تُشكل الوحدات الأساسية لتشكيل جزيئات الماء
  • تقصّي العلاقة بين طبقات الغلاف الجوي الدنيا والعليا على كوكب المريخ
  • تقديم الصورة الأولى من نوعها على مستوى العالم حول كيفية تغير جو المريخ على مدار اليوم وبين فصول السنة
  • مراقبة الظواهر الجوية على سطح المريخ، مثل العواصف الغبارية، وتغيرات درجات الحرارة، فضلاً عن تنوّع أنماط المناخ تبعاً لتضاريسه المتنوعة
  • الكشف عن الأسباب الكامنة وراء تآكل سطح المريخ
  • البحث عن أي علاقات تربط بين الطقس الحالي والظروف المناخية قديماً للكوكب الأحم

هذا وقد بدأت الدولة العمل على مشروع إرسال أول مسبار عربي وإسلامي إلى كوكب المريخ بعد صدور مرسوم صاحب السمو الشيخ خليفة بن زايد آل نهيان رئيس الدولة وحاكم إمارة أبوظبي، رعاه الله، بإنشاء وكالة الإمارات للفضاء. جاء هذا المخطط ضمن مشروع الإمارات لاستكشاف القمر والذي لم تتأثر خطة سيره على الرغم من التحديات الناجمة عن فايروس كورونا.
