I think that operators like Kopitiam have been using things like tray return machines which helps the cleaners and those who use the trays, as it is more efficient. They sort things such as plates, cups, etc. This is easier for cleaners. However, there is not much difference for the people who return their trays.

We could start having Tray Return Ambassadors that would fine those who do not return their trays. This way people learn because they would not want to suffer the same consequences of paying a fine.

Those who do not return their tray can be in a hurry to do something important, which is why they do not prioritise returning their trays. Even though this is a valid reason, they could still eat a little quicker to have enough time to put back the trays, unless it is an emergency.

With cleaners at food courts or centers, people think that it is their job to clear their trays for them. So they neglect the need to clear the trays by themselves. This is something that can be fixed if we start educating children that they should clean up before themselves.

I think we can be more responsible by returning our trays ourselves instead of the elderly cleaners. Yes, their job is to clean up after us but the elderly cleaners are no longer young and don't have much energy. The elderly cleaners not only have to help us return our trays but have to wipe down the table, clean the sit and etc. Elderly cleaners also get criticized as people look down on them because they are powerless . This can affect the elderly cleaners doing their job . Hence we should return the trays ourselves and be kind to the elderly cleaners to make their job easier

in my opinion, i think that hawker stall owners can apply a fine or a poster to tell consumers that they have to return theirs trays after finishing their meal. For example in the video theres a tray return station which lets others return their trays after eating to make the jobs of the cleaners easier. But some have said things like, being in a rush or cant finish their food. which then leads to having their trays and food being left behind not kept. Being in a rush is understandable and cant be helped but if everyone does this, not only will the hawker stall owners need to wait for their trays back, theyll have less space for consumers which could potentially bring down the business.
A good example of having a fine for not returning trays is the hawker center at parkway parade where you have to pay 50cents for a tray and will get your money back after returning the tray. this will encourage more people to return their trays. Of course this action will not guarantee everyone returning their trays due to being in a rush.

i think we can be more welcome to the elderly cleaner. As they are the one who cleans up and disinfect the table for us to provide a cleaner environment for us to consume our food.During this pandemic situation to prevent us from spreading germs, they play an important role by keeping the table clean. An example is,we should not shout or scold them.It is our own responsibility to keep the table clean but not them. They help us to do our own job,so we should respect them and not scold or look down on them,.In my opinion,i think that we can respect by sucessing them.

i think that we can clean up our own tray or table to loosen their job.As their job is full of hardship and they need to clean up the mess that we make on the table which is disgusting. They work for a long hours a day and when they needed to clean our mess,it is very exhausting for us and also them.We should clean up our own table after use to reduce the challenge of it.For example,we can clean up and return our own tray after consuming our food to help them. Thus,i think that it is our own responsibility to do it instead of them.

kopitiam has done a very good job as far as i'm concerned. They have effectively provided numerous tray return centres close to many tables to be easily accessed, prompting the public to return their trays as it is not a hard task to do and only takes a few minutes. In addition, they have point system which too, encourages customers to return their trays. How the system works would be once the customer has left their tray at the correct row of the return centre, they can place their kopitiam card on a stand and a machine would give some points, accumulating these points would allow you to redeem prizes. I believe that this would encourage customers to return as they would get something in return after doing so, which is what most people enjoy, being rewarded. Last but not least, since not everyone entering kopitiam may not be buying food, for their convenience, they should put up a system where they would have to scan different QR codes at the various food stalls, subsequently buying their meal. Those who fail to comply, shall receive a punishment by the law. after scanning the QR code, they would have to scan another QR code located at the tray return centre, to verify that they have returned their tray.

When then see dirty stuff on the table they could try and help out and clean it. Because it can be very unhygienic and dirty so they could do a part to clean it so they could maybe help a bit to clean the tables and bring their trays back to their store.
I think not much people want to do this.

The NEA should really start campaigns on cleaning up after themselves in hawker centre's because if theres too much/many customers the clean up is immense and it can burn out or overwhelm hawker cleaners the campaigns can help at least a bit in cleaning for the hawker cleaners because the hawker cleaners have to not only remember the bowls store but also they need to return it to the stores so campaigns were people return trays and bowls make the job easier for the back-breaking work the cleaners go through everyday until evening .
My mic broken cher srry
