Today we started out by getting signed off for the remaining units, and getting a sheet signed to check if we passed all the units. To then be able to move onto FMP, after this we started out by doing a few worksheets e.g. Swot analysis ect. We then looked over teachers comments on our work and how we can improve our skills for FMP. We then looked at a UAL grading sheet, and a SWOT analysis to assess our skills needed for this unit, also anything that may cause an issue later on and how important english and maths skills are and how comfortable we felt with them. E.g. writing a script I wrote "Green" for being confident with it because I felt like I can be given a task to write a script and be able to use my skills to do this. Overall I feel like these sheets helped me analyse past mistakes I made on other units for example I could've done better on the minuets of meeting sheets because they weren't formatted correctly and I need to ask for futher advice which I did. Leila then said about having a short lesson on this, thefore I'm hopeful to improve on this. We also had to show how it will affect me with the FMP. I hope to get a Merit on the FMP, Although some of my units are graded, Pass - Excellent some are only Pass - Good therefore I will keep an eye on every aspect of this unit and make sure I make it a high standard all the way though. Next lesson I will be taking the skills I learnt this lesson, and read the brief with great detail to make sure I achieve what I set out to do.

I finished off these targets/tasks at home due to not having access to a computer on the day and iPads not beings the best thing for doing some of the tasks, therefore I completed it at home I found the tasks easy but a bit time consuming, I hope to add more to the "FMP Smart Targets Worksheet" due to the fact I only had feedback for units 5&6.

Sources -
See Unit 8 Work Padlet Wall for:
-Swot anaylsis
-Self assesment
-Smart Targets
-How I reached the target goal set for that day.
https://padlet.com/gabrielle48521/gc5vzf5v3j04

Today we got give the official brief and assignment, once I read though it all and checked over the details, I wrote up what I understood from the brief and added in screenshots. I did this because I want to show how much I understood and how I'm going to use it within the FMP. For example in my document explaining what I understood from the brief I said about knowing the deadline is Wednesday 14th June 2017 therefore I have thought about how I will structure the weeks after we are allowed to go off and start pre-production, to do this I will make sure I keep my production schedule up to date which is something I did struggle with initially but will keep at it on this project. I then did a mind map after lunchtime on planning a proposal including these key things:

Skills to develop

Research

Constraints

Ideas I have for the pitch

Barriers and solutions

Requirements of the brief

Team responsibilities

Audience

Planning out all this really helped me think about my idea more, and how it would work in a professional video, I also compared it to the brief to ensure that it wasn't "controversal" ect. Tomorrow I will be working on my pitch and ideas for my pitch. I have a few in my head but they're not fully thought out or final although I had some time today to think about this.

I finished off these targets/tasks for today I read over the brief and wrote up what I understood from it and how I would use the brief I then did a mindmap after lunch to start planning for my pitch next week.

Sources -
See Unit 8 Work Padlet Wall for:
-Assigenment brief overview of what I understood from the brief.
-Mindmap for pitch ideas
https://padlet.com/gabrielle48521/gc5vzf5v3j04

Today we started out by meeting in the lecture theatre talking about a project outside of college called "life swap" this went on for an hour we then went on to a talk with Delta about what we were doing today. We are creating demonstration videos for students which may feature on the colleges help page. We then did a Kahoot quiz based on naming media equipment, I did well but I sometimes tapped too fast and got the question wrong, next time I will take my time in reading the answers. We went with our technician, Dave to the motion room and he told us how to set up each bit of equipment and demonstrated how to use each piece, I also recorded most of the demonstrations I will put them onto my work padlet to save for later. We then had lunch in which I started my project proposal since I wanted to do some extra work I used the template to ensure that my proposal was correct. After lunch at 2:00pm we went out and did the video task. Overall it was easier than I thought it would be initially, because we were using two new pieces of equipment which I was nervous about (Jib, and steadicam). We had trouble with the steadicam but according to Dave it takes a lot of practice to get it right. To get better at the steadicam I will ask Dave later on and ask how to set it up again to make sure I can see more of where components are since we were sitting quite far away. My target for today was to get better at using equipment like the Jib and the steady cam, I achieved half of this as I learnt how to set up the Jib well, apart from the clip for the sand bag that goes on the end of the jib breaking, through no fault of the group. I also scouted locations of the possible locations that I'd like to film my project in and posted them onto my mood board padlet for this project. Tomorrow I will doing my pitch, I will practice at home and upload it to my work padlet.

My targets given for today: I completed these by, Viewing how to use the equipment and recording how to set the equipment up in case I needed these for later on. Me and 3 others completed each task we were given, we set up: The steady cam, lighting, Jib, handheld rig, dolly and track, and audio set up. With all of these I think I need to improve on the steady cam since it is the hardest bit of kit they have we had trouble getting it to be "steady" but It takes practice to do this, so instead of being scared of booking it out I will ask for advice and make sure I practice using it.

Sources -
See Unit 8 Work Padlet Wall for:
- The videos we created today - Equipment workshop
https://padlet.com/gabrielle48521/gc5vzf5v3j04

See my individual idea research on my moodboard:
https://padlet.com/gabrielle48521/h1zd5t4awhq3

Today my target was to pitch and explain my idea without being so nervous, although we didn't get to pitch because of open evening. There just wasn't enough time, I also had to edit my project proposal since there was a word limitation of 500 words, after this I just copied it into the template given to us by UAL. I changed my idea today due to the fact that I thought it would be move achievable then my previous one, I did this by asking my group what I could improve about my idea, they said that I should make it more about what situations in school they have been before college, and how they dealt with it, I also looked into being bullied because you're different. This idea is also is easier to research and there's more to research for example, I can look at a range of sources E.g. books, news articles ect. Which I would've been limited in have I gone with my previous idea. Where I went wrong with the other one is I thought of an idea but I didn't consider the overall video and how it would work, and the reasoning was poor. With this new Idea the reasoning is a lot better due to the fact it is slightly personal, since I was bullied for how I looked and therefore needed extra help. I will carry on the target for today to do my pitch without being so nervous for tomorrow since the pitches will be done tomorrow morning. I hope tomorrow I can explain my idea well, and not talk to fast I did a practice with the old idea which is on my work padlet for review.

Today my target was to pitch and explain my idea without being nervous, I think I did well today and achieved these small targets below to a good standard.

Sources -
See Unit 8 Work Padlet Wall for:
-Project proposal for my own idea.
https://padlet.com/gabrielle48521/gc5vzf5v3j04

See my individual idea research on my moodboard:
https://padlet.com/gabrielle48521/h1zd5t4awhq3

Today we did the pitch It went well but I felt like I left some things out and didn't explain it as well as I wanted to originally. For example I left out the personal side of my idea, and I spoke a bit too fast since I was nervous, although I practiced I need to do more at home to make sure I'm not as nervous. I think it was the fact we did the pitch in a room with others in the class doing their work, and that it was fairly loud in the room which was distracting. Next time I will practice more at home, pitch to friends, and ask to go into a better room where I don't have to be so nervous of my surroundings. Leila thought that my idea was based around too many things E.g. ADHD, and Depression ect. But I only used them as examples and wanted to only add in ones that came up e.g. Learning difficulties since I'd need to get people who need that extra help in college, to be in the video which may be tricky. Overall it wasn't too bad I did better than I thought, although I ended up being a bit too concise. After this we started on making a mind map for our group idea and I will make a clearer version at home since mine was a bit rough and not as neat as usual. We also did industry professional profiles and job profiles, I find these quite easy since we've done this before I'll also finish these at home in my spare time. Tomorrow is our workshop day for editing I hope I can learn something new In that lesson.

Sources -
See Unit 8 Work Padlet Wall for:
-The pitch video, - Me doing the pitch
-Mindmap for group idea
-Industry professional sheets
-Job profiles
https://padlet.com/gabrielle48521/gc5vzf5v3j04

See my individual idea research on my moodboard:
https://padlet.com/gabrielle48521/h1zd5t4awhq3

Today we had workshop, this time it was about editing we had to go out and film something based on what we got in a lucky dip, We didn't get what we wanted originally, but we stuck with it and created something in our group of 4. This consisted of Jayne, Me, Chloe, and Kirsten. Our bit of paper said "Why Am I So Alone?" with this we had to have a narration and use the track and dolly which we were all comfortable with. We were only restricted to an hour of filming which made it very difficult to make a 3-4 minuet video, since they wanted good shots, in focus, and using a new piece of equipment which made it quite difficult get all the shots we wanted, and had to revert to handheld due to the lack of time. Next time I would make out idea a bit simpler with shots. With our roles I was an actor along with Jayne, Chloe was a director, and Kirsten was camera with the choices they were good, however Kirsten didn't know much about using the camera so we tried our best to help her with it. We will take this into consideration if we do this next time, and explain it a bit more before we begin so she is sure of what to do and how to do it. With this activity I felt okay, just not relaxed as much as I would be since I'm not an actor but I tried my best in this role and it turned out not so bad as I thought and was a lot of fun to film. After this we edited what we had on our own individually, I found this easy since I am confident in editing and helped out others when they asked, I didn't get to finish this although so I'll be coming in Monday to finish it off. Today I learnt to make sure that ideas are simple enough, and not too much for us to do in that short amount of time.

Update - Monday - I have finished off the edit on my study day this was easy to do, I had trouble converting it on the Mac due to the new computers. The settings are slightly different on these, however I worked it out and managed to get it into the correct format. Next time I will use this for future projects.

Sources -
See Unit 8 Work Padlet Wall for:
-Why am I so alone edit
https://padlet.com/gabrielle48521/gc5vzf5v3j04

Today we decided to do some secondary research in my group. We went to the college library and looked at books, there wasn't too much there since it was recently cleared out so we may go to the town library soon to get more of a range. We then picked out books looked though them and skimmed though each book, looking for anything relevent to our idea. An example of one of the books we found one on cyber bullying, which was useful and had some case studies in it based on people who were treated differently so were bullied online because of it. This is relevent to our idea because, we are looking at how people are labeled and treated differently because of how they look, act, are seen as ect. We found a few others and each two home to analyse, and we each made mind maps of each one to present to each other tomorrow. We want to make a make a big mind map tomorrow on all our findings from the books to help us with FMP. We couldn't move onto the next task since we have a workshop next week on Primary research, e.g. Vox pops etc. So in turn we decided to do our secondary research instead. Our target was to plan effectively I did this in my group by making a mind map of research to do and what we should all research to keep in tact, this was useful as we thought of the many sources in which we can research. We also had a meeting and said about coming in on days off like Saturdays or contacting each other on Skype to get work done as a group to keep on track of the schedule. I think this is good since it shows we have good communication and we work well as a team so far. Tomorrow we will be making the big mind map and work on the task for tha day. I hope to carry on with the attitude I had today in which I was ready to work, this is also reflecting on my targets before we stated this project.

Sources -
See Unit 8 Work Padlet Wall for:
-Individual mindmaps on the books we took home.
-Word document on books we read and publishing dates ect.
https://padlet.com/gabrielle48521/gc5vzf5v3j04

Today we had a meeting and spoke about how we should start a research wall, since we looked at our research mind map from yesterday and decided to look at news articles, we created a group padlet and all contributed to it. We all gave ourselves individual things to look at so that we didn't clash and look at the same thing. I looked at news articles mainly, about people being segregated or treated wrongly in schools or the workplace due to being different, or having a disability this was easy for me to do I just used google, and looked around the BBC website to do this. Jayne decided to find statistics on bullying, and LGBTQ related things, this was more for fact checking or anything interesting that we can include on our video. Chloe looked at how schools and workplaces deal with bullying, their polices and the way governments deal with these segregation ect. I think this really helped us since we have something to refer back to later if we need an idea. After this we got A3 paper and pens, and brought the books we researched yesterday together in a big mind map this is on my work padlet labeled as "Group Mind map - Books". This helped us understand the books and we had a meeting and spoke about what we found. What I learnt from this lesson is how to create a group padlet, this will be useful for other projects. Since everyone can put things into the group at anytime, so we don't have to send it though messenger to be able to see it. We also created a survey monkey to see what our target market is today as a group and shared it on social media since out generation is more on social media so this was a good idea. We did this so we can get more responses, and also leave it a week before we look at the results, giving us time to share it with others and get a good audience representation. Tomorrow is our photography workshop I hope to enhance my skills and be refreshed on photography, since we haven't done this in a while.

Sources -
See Unit 8 Work Padlet Wall for:
-Research mindmap - What research we can do
-Big mindmap on books we found.
-My own research at home into song lyrics that I find useful.
https://padlet.com/gabrielle48521/gc5vzf5v3j04

See our group research wall:
https://padlet.com/jayneangelamiles/6i744xfng93b

Today we did our photography workshop, to start with we had a lesson about how to use a camera, change Aperture, Shutter speed, and ISO. Although I know how to get to them, I get them a bit mixed up therefore need to practice a little more with this. We also went onto this site [camerasim.com/apps/original-camerasim/web] to test out these skills and see what combinations make a good photo. This was easy, and quite fun to experiment with since I learnt that if the shutter speed is fast you need to change the aperture to a lower number to compensate and let more light into the lens. They also spoke about how the ISO can make it easier to create depth of field visuals - You can do this by making the ISO higher, however the higher it is the more grainy the photo will be. I forgot to play around with this today so I hope to do this next time for practice. We then went outside to take our individual photos, we all took it in turns so we all had a chance to get some shots, examples of some that I took are, Texture, line, colour. Although we all had a chance to do this activity we were very limited on time and with 1 camera so we were only able to get a few good images. When we came back we put them onto the MACS and then we had to Photoshop them. Dave went though a few new techniques that we could use to make these pictures unique, we learnt how to use overlay to place two images onto of each other, and used "masks" to make it easier to only have an effect on a certain part of the image. For example if you had a image of a plain door and you want to make it more psychedelic but not the wall behind it, you can use these to do this easily. I liked using these new tools since they were easy to use and found it to be a really useful tool. I feel like these skills today will be very useful for next year and will keep them in my head.

Today we went on a college trip to Anglia Ruskin University. This was a great learning experience. I used this trip to gain some primary research for our FMP. I have learnt from this that organisation is important to ensure that everything you plan to do e.g. Tours, activities or giving talks. Something I will be doing for this project is to ensure that my team members who are involved knows what they at meant to be doing for that day and also hits the goals/tasks set for that day. To do this task I would have a production schedule printed or sent via email to the team. I Also need to keep all team members involved and keep communication open so we can all be on the same page. This will then help everything to run smoother and prevent some of the problems that could have come across later on. Today I learnt about how important a script and direction is for simple talks, when we went on our tours we couldn't go into any of the rooms and only got to see doors of classrooms. Also because we are media students we wanted to see that area specifically. However this is not happen since they do not have a media department at that cetain campus. When our guide was talking and giving the tour it felt as if it was under rehersed and questions wern't answered as well as it should've been. This experience has taught me that it is also better to plan or write a script of what we want to say before doing something like that so we know exactly what we want to be said and how to get it across clearly. When the workshops and talks began everyone was paying attention but as they went on more and more people lost this and became bored and in the end started doodling or whispering to each other and just not paying attention as much as they did. To avoid this and keep my audience's 16-20 year olds attention I have to ensure that the main message will not get lost by getting to the point quickly. For the FMP I plan to use this lesson by keeping the image fresh and not go on for too long on one thing. I saw this for myself when during the last talk the speaker told us to write down a question on a piece of paper and turn it into a paper aeroplane and to then throw it at the student ambassadors. This was completely unexpected and surprising and suddenly everyone's attention was fixed back at them and we were all ready and wanted to take part. This then helped with our attention for the rest of the talk as it was as if it had woken us all up. I want to use this type of technique myself, I plan to do more research into it to see what other people have done and what I could potentially improve my own ending product.

Sources -
See Unit 8 Work Padlet Wall for:
https://padlet.com/gabrielle48521/gc5vzf5v3j04

See our group research wall:
https://padlet.com/jayneangelamiles/6i744xfng93b

Today we started off with a kahoot, testing our knowledge on different types of research and what each one entails such as what is semiotics, my answer was symbols. My score was 13/15 questions correct and 2 wrong. Next time I hope to get 15/15 and gain the knowledge to do this even though I was in the top 5. After this was done Leila set us today's task, today's task was to go to the library (Harlow college/town) to find books related to our fmp ideas, luckily out team did this already and just wanted expand on our knowledge of useful books for this fmp. We then decided to go to the towns library a last week we used the colleges but the towns library was closed, Due for this we returned back to the college library and found one book related to our fmp. We looked at it as a group and it was useful because it was about stereotyping and genders which is useful because out fmp is about scrapping these stereotypes and celebrating the differences an example of one stereotype is ."Fag". Tomorrow we decided to make a group mind map displaying different points from every book that we came across. For example Target audiences ect. Before we went today we had a workshop on how to write good diary logs, and rated examples of ones that Leila showed us, I also got feedback from my partner and left a voice note on their Showbie as well, due to my feedback given of adding in more detail and doing more P.E.E. I feel like this has helped me a lot, since I will now go back over my diary logs at home and stick to the task and not go off track.

Sources -
See Unit 8 Work Padlet Wall for:
-Mindmap on the books we found and new point of views of the books we've looked at as a group.
-The books inside cover and information on the books in a word document.
https://padlet.com/gabrielle48521/gc5vzf5v3j04

See our group research wall:
https://padlet.com/jayneangelamiles/6i744xfng93b

Today we started out by getting put into our production groups and getting some more primary research we made questions during our break to do these tasks. The first thing on our timetable was the 1to1 interviews, this went well and in our group we co-ordinated the primary research by giving each other a task. We had half an hour to do each of the tasks (Voxpops,1to1 Interview, Focus groups) Here are our assigned tasks:

Jayne - Camera person

Gabbie (me) - Asking people questions

Chloe - Took notes and got people for us to interview/ask questions ect.

With the 1to1 interviews it went well, we managed to get these done in good timing and moved on early to the voxpops, the voxpops we were the most nervous about since last time we did them, we didn't get many people or good answers. This time we approached more people and we're now more confident in gaining feedback in this way. The last one we had to do was focus groups we decided to use media students because, in these questions we explained our idea more, and we wanted to get feedback from students who know more about media, and know how it all works, we got some really good feedback and we tweaking our idea due to this. My target for today was for me to do voxpops without being so nervous, I achieved this due to the fact I asked questions to people and got over the overall fear from the public.
Next week we will be starting pre-production and getting it all done for filming.

Sources -
See Unit 8 Work Padlet Wall for:
-The videos we did today all lab led
-My write up for Primary and Secondary research.
https://padlet.com/gabrielle48521/gc5vzf5v3j04

See our group research wall:
https://padlet.com/jayneangelamiles/6i744xfng93b

Today we started out by having a talk with our teacher about pre-production and how to do minuets of meeting. This really helped me get to grips with how to write minuets of meetings and what is in the pre-production overall. We then spoke about how we would distribute the work and had a minuets of meeting. After this we created a Task 3 FMP padlet, for us to upload all our work to as a group, it is on a shelf setting which shows what documents we have done each and so we can all keep progress of pre-production with each-other. Once we started distributing the workload, I got on with my first task and started the location visit sheet, I went to the photography studio and took pictures of the exits, power supply and room, I then typed up the rooms risk assessment while Chloe did the motion room location. Jayne at the time was writing up the production schedule, these were the main tasks for today, and all of them were completed. Today was very easy, since we distributed the work well and got onto our tasks well as a team. Tomorrow we will continue with pre-production and follow the schedule.

Sources -
See Group Padlet wall for pre-production sheets:
-Location (Recce)
-Production schedule
https://padlet.com/chloe_13a/gwm2aul9pad

See our group research wall:
https://padlet.com/jayneangelamiles/6i744xfng93b

Today we finished off pre-production sheets, we started by having a meeting and distributing the sheets, I did a job role since we, were a bit short on time. Me and my group completed these sheets today:

Equipment booked

Test shoot

Job profiles,

Storyboard template

We also had a group talk about, Changing the overall lighting because it was getting too complicated. We spoke about not using spotlight but then we went to experiment with it today and came to the conclusion that having a spotlight would be a really great effect. We also added in some of the medium sized LEDS, since we need a easy lightsorce to move and carry. We also thought about using the Jib because we wanted it more simple and get some good esablishing shots, but since another group wanted it, we decided on the track and dolly for smoother movements and easier to move around to where we need it.

Next week we will be getting our props ready for production and getting everything prepared for filming.

Today we didn't have too much to do, we decided to get the t-shirts ready for tomorrows production. Me and Jayne did this on the floor, we outlined the word in pencil, we had to be very careful though since we were writing backwards because the words are going to be reflected in a mirror. This was quite challenging since we needed to practice on a spare bit of paper beforehand to ensure we wouldn't mess up and waste money. The shirts took a while to do, but they came out pretty well and we checked to see if they would work in the bathroom mirror. Next time though I would buy fabric pens since we used sharpie and had to use a bit of cardboard to ensure that the ink wouldn't run or stain the floor. Overall I'm pleased with them and ready for tomorrows filming. Below is a picture of the shirts before we wrote on them.

Sources -
See Group Padlet wall for pre-production sheets:
https://padlet.com/chloe_13a/gwm2aul9pad

See our group research wall:
https://padlet.com/jayneangelamiles/6i744xfng93b

Today we filmed our FMP the shots weren't too bad themselves there were quite a few that we couldn't use, I have written up the Rushes log, for the scenes so far that can be found the group padlet in my section.

To start off with the day we started by coming in early and setting the room up, we moved chairs, and tables out of the way, set up the mini leds, and made sure everything was in place. Chloe brought in the mirror and Jayne with all the things we bought on Wednesday. After we set up the room we made sure that everything was set-up e.g. The camera settings, since we know if we don't do this in advance it can cause issues with lighting later on and make our footage bad quality. When everyone arrived for filming we got into it quickly, although we encountered quite a few issues thoughout the production which I'll list and explain here:

Actors leaving early - One actor didn't tell us he needed to go at three, we luckily got them though their filming quickly, we solved this by putting them first in filming scenes to ensure we have what we needed.

Actors not wanting to do parts of a scene - With the party scene one of the actors didn't mention that they were afraid of loud noises. E.g. Balloons and Party poppers even though we did mention it before to them. To solve this we made them feel more assured and then let them not partake in the scene due to them being anxious. Next time it may be better if we write up what we need our actors to do and ask them more questions than we did before filming.

Equipment running out of battery - This happened quite often 4 times in total, twice for the camera, once for an LED and another for the medium LED. We solved this issue by getting new battaries however next time I would want to book out more battaries or keep a charger to charge the battary that runs out, and swap them accordingly.

Took longer than expected - With the filming we didn't get it finished, we have spoken to Dave about this, and we might be able to film on Monday if the room is free which is good for us. We are not garenteed the room however so next time I would book the room for two days instead of one in case we need to re-shoot or film more.

Sources -
See Group Padlet wall for pre-production sheets:
https://padlet.com/chloe_13a/gwm2aul9pad

See our group research wall:
https://padlet.com/jayneangelamiles/6i744xfng93b
Below is an timelapse of us setting up the room you can find more on my work padlet here:
https://padlet.com/gabrielle48521/gc5vzf5v3j04

Today we got the message that we could film today and finish off the scenes we haven't completed, this was great news - apart from the fact we didn't have the mirror since, Chloe left it at home by mistake so she contacted her mum who then brought it in so we could film. We managed to finish off the scenes without too many issues overall, apart from a few lighting issues, and batteries still running out before we finished it went well. We managed to set up quickly as a team, and the tape we used to mark where the mirror was, was still there so we were able to make sure that it was as accurate as the first time we filmed. We learnt that we need to ensure that we leave extra hours so we can do scenes that may not get done in the first day of filming. Tomorrow we will start editing our FMP. We didn't have many issues due to the fact we did this before, the only issues were batteries, and the lights that were on the floor (mini LEDS) one was broken so we fixed it with tape and replaced the batteries in the other LED that run out of battery.

Note: I did the rushes log update at home and it is on the group pre-production padlet

Sources -
See Group Padlet wall for pre-production sheets:
https://padlet.com/chloe_13a/gwm2aul9pad

See our group research wall:
https://padlet.com/jayneangelamiles/6i744xfng93b

See my my work padlet:
https://padlet.com/gabrielle48521/gc5vzf5v3j04

Started editing first few scenes, - Feet, started walk to mirror

Today we started editing we edited these scenes so far:

The feet walking scene, synced it up to each other so the footsteps match. - added in fades at points

We also started the walking to the mirror scene, - adjusted lighting, and added in fades.

We didn't get to do a lot of this due to premier pro taking a long time to load, and also I sorted out the scenes into good and bad scenes, referencing my rushes log this helped a lot so we could only use the good scenes and didn't have to import all the scenes, I found this useful and quick to do having done the rushes log. Premier pro also did crash once which did effect the work we could do, we did lose a small section of the video that we edited, even though I saved it all regularly and didn't rely on the auto save feature in case it doesn't save as often as we would have liked. Tomorrow we will continue editing, hope we can finish off the mirror scene, and start other scenes.

Sources -
See Group Padlet wall for pre-production sheets:
https://padlet.com/chloe_13a/gwm2aul9pad

See our group research wall:
https://padlet.com/jayneangelamiles/6i744xfng93b

See my my work padlet:
https://padlet.com/gabrielle48521/gc5vzf5v3j04

Today we edited more scenes, we decided to change the video slightly since the balloon scene/party scene, didn't really fit the project anymore due to its bright colours, etc. The other change we made was that we wanted it so the punch came in, then "break the stereotypes message" and then the helpline. We then decided to just use the mirror, we did try and combine the mirror, and the balloon pop by playing around with the opacity and brightness and contrast however that didn't work too well so we are trying different things to see what will work, We also decided to use the balloon at the end if possible, as a finale still, we are not sure of this though, we will have a meeting tomorrow to talk about this. It was hard getting a Mac for today so I came in early to get one so we could edit today.

Tomorrow we will be finishing off the scenes we edited today and adding in titles, to our project.

All scenes we edited today -

Mirror punch - Added in sound clip, matched to image in photoshop, and mirror punch scene.

Finished walking to mirror scene - Edited, and added in fadese

Sources -
See Group Padlet wall for pre-production sheets:
https://padlet.com/chloe_13a/gwm2aul9pad

See our group research wall:
https://padlet.com/jayneangelamiles/6i744xfng93b

See my my work padlet:
https://padlet.com/gabrielle48521/gc5vzf5v3j04

Today we exported the editing, and put it into final cut to add in the titles and effects. We decided on just using the mirror, and adding in the punch effect. We found the punching glass break bit since we looked for stock photos that were royalty free and chose one, I then put it into photoshop and got rid of the background so we can put it over the top of the scene, crop it into place, change the opacity and then make it look like the person who punched the mirror broke it, we also found a sound effect online from this site: https://www.freesound.org we know this is a good site since it is royalty free. The thing we found tricky today was the matching of the glass breaking sound from free sound, and the mirror breaking, it took a while to get correct but in the end it looks good. We also used this site to find our music: http://www.bensound.com

Today we edited/added:

Fonts- We did choose one that we liked but we got some feedback that they were boring and we spend time to change the fonts, but since we couldn't agree to a font we will do this tomorrow when we have a fresh day.

Titles- We added in all the titles "We" "Are" "More" "Than" "A" "Label' added in the helpline for the Samaritans, we chose this due to the fact anyone can ask for help not just people who are suicidal and you can talk to them which is why we chose them.

Mirror punch effect added - We used an image from online and then we photoshopped it, and added it in we ensured all the things we used were royalty free stock images. We also got the timing correct and finished off this scene.

Bibliography -

Bensound: Anon, 2017.

Today we did some extra filming after the feedback we received, it went really well apart from equipment not working too well, since we had a broken tripod and one of us had to hold the end of it stop it from dipping, it was also a bit of trial and error due to us never using the slider before, I was a bit nervous but we learnt how to use it quickly even though we had a broken tripod, we then filmed it and it worked well. I learnt that we need to add more days in for filming extra scenes or anything we think we may need, since this scene wasn't actually planned we added it in because we saw how the breaking the mirror scene, was too quick and you needed a build up to it so we decided to use the subjects faces to show more emotion, we got them to nod and it was pretty basic with the scene, but it makes our project longer and improves it by adding in tension. We also added in the things we filmed today - I will write these up on the Rushes log when I get home. Tomorrow we will finish off the editing, today because of filming we didn't edit a lot, we added in this build up and then edited the fonts to something we all agreed on. I think this is much better and works really well.

Sources -
See Group Padlet wall for pre-production sheets:
https://padlet.com/chloe_13a/gwm2aul9pad

See our group research wall:
https://padlet.com/jayneangelamiles/6i744xfng93b

See my work padlet:
https://padlet.com/gabrielle48521/gc5vzf5v3j04

Today we finished off the edit we added a black line to the video due to there being a white line on one of the scenes so we fixed it with the colour matte tool, by adjusting the position of it and then coving the white line up. We also added in the glass smashing sound because it went missing while being exported into MP4 format, we also used the footage we got from Friday and moved them around, changed the opacity and moved them on top of one another and synced the head movements, this was fairly easy once we got the timing correct we had to slow one of the videos down to fit the other one, but it worked out well and we will use this skill next year, after we checked over the edit, we exported it and got feedback, We created the survey monkey today, to leave it over a day to see what feedback we get, and to give people a chance to answer we got 20 replies in total and shared this on social medial. It gave us a lot of good feedback, for example, a lot of people didn't like the font, therefore we will think about editing those changes int the project on Wednesday after the presentation.

Sources -
See Group Padlet wall for pre-production sheets:
https://padlet.com/chloe_13a/gwm2aul9pad

See our group research wall:
https://padlet.com/jayneangelamiles/6i744xfng93b

See my work padlet:
https://padlet.com/gabrielle48521/gc5vzf5v3j04

Today we came in and looked for a Mac, however there wasn't one so we decided to go to the library, but that was also full, so we decided on going to the English department and found some spare PCs's, we then decided to talk about the presentation, we had to decide on when we were going to show the video, and when we will talk etc. We also created a powerpoint presentation, and a script in order to show visual and written work, we did this because the audience have different ways of engaging with the presenters so we decided to create something for everyone if they like visual or just listening. We then went on to do the screenings/ focus groups and got some great feedback we did this in two groups of people we managed to get 7 peoples feedback in total which really helped us figure out what to improve on e.g. Text and the grammar issue. We will change these tomorrow if we get the time to. I then went home and finished off my evaluation. We asked some students, because we wanted some Peer feedback and we knew they can provide good feedback since they know wha to look for, we also asked the marketing team even though they aren't in our age group but since they are the marketing department we decided to ask them since its what they do everyday, and they provided the best possible feedback to change our project slightly, they said about the shirts not being clear so if we did this project again we will take that into consideration.

Sources -
See Group Padlet wall for pre-production sheets:
https://padlet.com/chloe_13a/gwm2aul9pad

See our group research wall:
https://padlet.com/jayneangelamiles/6i744xfng93b

See my work padlet:
https://padlet.com/gabrielle48521/gc5vzf5v3j04

Today we had our screenings, ours went well, although I was really nervous and ended up talking a bit faster than I planned to we explained our idea and then showed the video to the audience, we then got feedback, we didn't get any positive feedback apart from someone liking the mirror break., this was a surprise to us since most of the time all we got is positive feedback. One comment that stood out for me was someone saying about how the t-shirts aren't related to stereotypes but are more related to discrimination rather than stereotyping itself since the feedback we got previously loved the word stereotyping, therefore, we probably won't change it due to the fact that it would be wrong to change one thing for one person, then the majority that agreed with us and if we were to do it again we will consider the words we use more. I felt as if people looked more at the negatives rather than what we achieved as a group, I then added the feedback to my evaluation and posted it onto my work padlet.

Sources -
See Group Padlet wall for pre-production sheets:
https://padlet.com/chloe_13a/gwm2aul9pad

See our group research wall:
https://padlet.com/jayneangelamiles/6i744xfng93b

See my work padlet:
https://padlet.com/gabrielle48521/gc5vzf5v3j04
