As the institutions in the US measure the prospective students in a more holistic way and offer them general education in their first two school years and allow them to change their mind about majors frequently, so the IB course selection for US schools is much more flexible. On the contrary, it is hard for the students to change majors in the UK universities. Therefore, to ensure the admitted students could survive in their future college years, the IB course selections should match the majors the student is hoping to apply (eg. if one student wants to choose history as his/her future major, and most schools require the students to take History HL as a must )meanwhile, the UK schools set a very clear entry requirement on the relevant courses. All the offers are conditional. A wise and scientific combination of IBDP course selection will help a lot. For example, if one student cannot decide which subject should be higher level, since all of his subjects are weak. One smart choice for the students to choose is putting the Group 1 and Group 2 into Higher Level.
