My job and my family take all my time. i would like to have much more time to do a lot of things including studing. However, as it is not possible, I usually plan what to study, for example how many pages or slides or videos. I usually study when I have time, that is on my free day from work and when I have to study a lot I also plan half an hour everyday in the afternoon. I usually study on a big desk where I can have all my tools (pc, a copybook for notes, pencils, pens, highlighters, also a cup of tea or coffee and so on.

I usually study in the evening or late at night. Nobody calls or visits at this time and I can focus better on what I am reading. I saved money to buy a good tablet with a pen so I can use this instead of my PC. I also keep notes and highlight important things on it. I best study late in the afternoon or at night, I must admit I'm a bit of a night owl: I think I will reserve a couple of hours or a bit more a week to go through each module. For the remainder of this particular course I plan to finish it asap. I'll stay here, in front of my computer, till it's all done and over with. As a general ‘plan’ for on-line exploring and learning, I look for two important goals: gathering important /relevant data for my learning interests and checking out the course calendar so that I might be able to submit the assignments in time. I reflect upon the results (in both cases) and then I make the necessary improvements.

I don’t have a favorite time or place for (on-line) learning, but it is important to me to be in the right mood for studying that particular course/subject. Scheduling the learning sessions never works for me. That’s way the flexibility the on-line courses provide suits me better.

I dont see any tasks, any timeline and even any syllabus in this course. The only available information to use in a plan is the list of strategies and the 3 hours of course duration. 1. Take in all the visual and written information I can from the course materials. First I need to pause and make notes of the videos so that I can use the visual cues to work out what is being said. (Normally I lip-read to listen.)

I am regularly engaged with courses like this for about an hour each and every day, till the completion of the task. It happens late at night at my cozy office when everything seems calm in house and out house, so I can stay concentrated to my work. My main tool is my laptop, my personal files and the access to web. If something goes wrong, I can stay up till early in the morning. In case of technical problems, I schedule my reaction to get start from new day’s dawn, in order to solve the problems within the next day gaining priority to helpdesks, e-mails, phone calls and other support.

Taking into account that there is no upper limit for the Five Strategies’ Course, I will continue my own pace till the completion of the five strategies + the final quiz. In the interim, I search and study additional material on web.
