  • When done with their work students were allowed to get out a book to read or other homework to work on.

  • A student had trouble focusing and the teacher gently brought their attention back to the subject but did not allow excuses.

I also experienced a new way of starting the day called soft starts. Soft starts are on Friday mornings. They include some students working on homework and other missing assignments while others are able to complete learning activities. I also experienced students not working on what everything the class was working on and having to give up recess time to work on class work.

    -There was a clicker that I thought was pretty cool, it appeared to look like a clock but it picked group desks based on the number

    -I got to see what Pathway groups were for the first time. They are individual groups that work punctuation.
