He believe transcendentalism isn't a philosophy but "the very oldest thoughts cast into the mold of the new times". The literally contribution to Transcendentalism was the Fireside Poets.</li><li>Henry David Thoreau was a poet. His philosophical thinking was that "contemplation of the natural world led to a more generalized emotional and intellectual awakening.
