A 5 i. "I managed to survive two rounds of corporate downsizing, but the third round was a 20% reduction in the workforce, which included me."

Q 10. If you were an animal, which one would you want to be? (Psychological Question).
A 10.   If you answer "a bunny," you will make a soft, passive impression. If you answer "a lion," you will be seen as aggressive. What type of personality would it take to get the job done? What impression do you want to make?

This job is a good fit for what I've been doing and enjoying throughout my career. It offers a mix of short-term projects and long-term goals. My organizational skills allow me to successfully multitask and complete both kinds of projects.

2. What is your greatest strength?
I have an extremely strong work ethic. When I'm working on a project, I don't want just to meet deadlines. Rather, I prefer to complete the project well ahead of schedule. Last year, I even earned a bonus for completing my three most recent reports one week ahead of time.

3. Why should we hire you?
Your company provides many services that I have had experience with, in a variety of capacities. I believe that my familiarity with the industry would make me a good fit for this position.

I'm looking for a bigger challenges and to grow my career, but didn’t feel like I could give equal attention both to my job search and to my full-time work responsibilities. It didn’t seem ethical to slack off from my former job in order to conduct my job search, and so I left the company.

5. How do you handle stress and pressure?
Pressure is very important to me. Good pressure, such as having a lot of assignments to work on, or an upcoming deadline, helps me to stay motivated and productive. Of course, there are times when too much pressure can lead to stress; however, I am very skilled at balancing multiple projects and meeting deadlines, which prevents me from feeling stressed often. For example, I once had three large projects due in the same week, which was a lot of pressure. However, because I created a schedule that detailed how I would break down each project into small assignments, I completed all three projects ahead of time and avoided unnecessary stress.

6. Describe a difficult work situation / project and how you overcame it
Decisions I have to make within a team are difficult, only because these decisions take more time and require deliberate communication between team members. For example, I was working on a team project, and my colleagues and I had to make a number of choices about how to use our limited budget. Because these decisions involved group conversations, our team learned how to communicate effectively with one another, and I believe we ultimately made the best decisions for the team.

7. What are your goals for the future?
My long-term goals involve growing with a company where I can continue to learn, take on additional responsibilities, and contribute as much value as I can. I love that your company emphasizes professional development opportunities. I intend to take advantage of all of these.

8.How do you evaluate success?
For me, success is about doing my job well. I want to be recognized as someone who always does their best and tries their hardest to make my goals.

9.What Are You Passionate About?

One of my greatest passions is helping others. When I was younger, I enjoyed helping my mom with household repairs. As I grew older, that habit grew and I desired to help others as well. I like helping people find solutions that meet their specific needs.

10. What is your greatest weakness?

Keep your answer to the point. Be work specific and tell the hiring manager about where you are now professionally. Do your company research and find out exactly what strengths and qualities this specific company is looking for.

Show the hiring manager that you are uniquely suited to filling this position. Be the candidate that solves their “problems“. Show you know some significant details about the company and their general practices because you have researched the firm.

Talk about a “strength” that you know the company puts a lot of value in. Grab hold of the opportunity this question gives you. Highlight a strength that is crucial to the position.

As long as you pick a weakness that isn’t a key competency for the job and you show that you have taken steps to “work on it”, you will be fine. 

Talk about specific things you like about the company. Be complimentary. Most people enjoy being flattered. Show how your strengths perfectly align with the job position and company culture.

If you were literally fired from your last job, you’re going to have to own up to it and show what you learned from the experience and what measures you have taken to address the reasons you were let go. Words like “downsizing” and “budget cuts” and “bad economy” are good defences if they are true and are the reasons for departure from the job.

This is somewhat similar to the “what is your greatest strength?” question and can be handled along the same lines. Try and show some genuine passion when you’re talking about your accomplishment.

Pick an example that shows you tackling a problem that could arise at the new company you’re interviewing for. This shows your value. Be specific and fairly concise.

Demonstrate when you answer the question your level of commitment to the position they are interviewing you for. Stress your interest in a long-term career at the company

Focus your questions on the company and what you can do for them. Ask about something you’ve discovered in your company research. This will show your passion and knowledge of the company. Ask if there is any reason the hiring manager wouldn’t hire you.

With five years of experience as a customer service associate, I have learned to effectively understand and resolve customer issues. A2: “I like to make sure that my work is perfect, so I tend to perhaps spend a little too much time checking it. However, I've come to a good balance by setting up a system to ensure everything is done the first time correctly.”

Q7: How do you handle stress? 

A7: “I react to situations, rather than to stress. That way, the situation is handled and doesn't become stressful. For example, when I deal with an unsatisfied customer, rather than feeling stressed, I focus on the task at hand. I believe my ability to communicate effectively with customers during these moments helps reduce my own stress in these situations and also reduces any stress the customer may feel.” 

 

Q8: What are your goals for a future? 

A8: “Once I gain additional experience, I would like to move on from a technical position to management. I know this is a common path for many people in this position. However, for now, I am excited about focusing on and applying my technical skills in this job.” 
 

Q9: What are the most difficult decision to make? 

A9: “As a manager, the most difficult decisions I make involve layoffs. Before making those tough decisions, I always think carefully about what is best for the business and my employees. While I do not relish making those kinds of choices, I do not shy away from this part of my job. A few years ago, I had to let some employees go due to the economic climate. This was a hard decision that was ultimately necessary for the good of the company and everyone working for the organization.” 

 

Q10: Tell me about yourself. 

A10: “Well, I’m currently a service advisor at Pekan, where I handle our top performing client. Before that, I worked at an agency where I was on three different major workshops. And while I really enjoyed the work that I did, I’d love the chance to dig in much deeper with one specific healthcare company, which is why I’m so excited about this opportunity with HICOM Automotive Centre.”
