The myocyte in the muscle contracts, making the muscle move. The myofribrials shorten, making the muscle contract and move.

Facts that relate to function of cell or group of cells:
A nerve cell sends a message to a muscle cell when touched
The impulse is directed towards a special tube and Ca2+is realeased which makes the muscle contract and move.
