Gilbert Santos's Portfolio.

This Portfolio is very limited. There are a selection of specific artwork, but unfortunately, the images shown are low resolution, and this is accompanied by a bland and boring layout, with no flair or colour. 
1. The images shown are placed in folders, so each image is easy to find. The 3D Modelling and impressive.
2. I would make sure to use his sense of collectiveness and organisation in my Portfolio, making sure it is not scattered around or unorganised.
3. His skills in 3D Modelling is clearly at an alright level.
4. From what iv'e seen, I see no real style or branding style. Everything looks very generic or bland. Nothing makes his work stand out.
5. I dislike the blandness and non existence sense of creativity in his Online Portfolio, making it a boring Portfolio.

As well as this the format is very simple which some people could argue is the most effective.

I think this is good as it shows people who look at the portfolio that your ability isn't just limited to a certain type.

1. What works well with it is that the each one has it's own style and format to give each piece a special and unique look to it, the colours are also bright and bold to catch a person's attention and has it's own format from posters to phoneeases and book covers.
2. I'd use the bright colours as I really like bright colours to catch people's attention and make my work more exciting. As well as to try out new styles often but stay close to a certain art style.
3. The graphic design elements from his graphic design degree really show as his work follows the many rules of graphic designing such as rules of three, central lines, focal point, etc.
4. Not really, as I quite like my style and improving it over time but not to completely change my style or get rid of it.

I don't really like the layout of this portfolio just because it seems too cramped and close together. I'd prefer it if it had gaps between the images or showed more of how his devleopment of the work. However, the media he posted it on allows people to follow his art. What worked well:
The design and layout of the portfolio is very simplistic but at the time, very powerful in the way it enables the user to navigate around it with ease and being able to see everything that it states under the specific topic of what the user came to see. 
The colours used are very simple as well, there isn't an overflow of colours and there are always blank space for the user to rest their eyes on when looking. 

I would base my portfolio in use very little range of colours to maintain a good and professional outlook.

Knows how to get a point across with out having to write pages and pages of explanation, he clearly demonstrates his skills in simplistic, flat 2D CGI animation. 

From what I have seen, it looks very original and different to most illustrative designs that I've ever seen.

1) This is a website of Loish but it can be considered as a portfolio as it has all the information about her work (e.g. context of her art work she has done). She is a illustrator and and animator. 2) This kind of layout she has used for her portfolio and could use the layout for my portfolio. The portfolio is very organised and she has impressively amount of art work.

3) Loish expresses her feelings in her art work and always has a talent in digital painting and semi-realism. 

4) Loish definitely has her own style because it's so unique to other art styles. If you compare her with other artist, you can definitely see the differences with other art style and that's why she stands out. 

5) The only thing about her portfolio that I dislike is that the background is blank (white) she could improve by adding some colours behind it. However, earthing else is good.

2) i would use the menu layout, how it has drop down menus to be guided around the page, there is a clear selection of designs to see and you can move through it and view them, this portfolio is a 3d design on and I'm not a 3d artist but i will look at the layout and get inspiration from that.
3) there are a lot of skills here, you can see that this person is very good at 3d work, and makes their work look fictional and realistic at the same time, it shows that he has a lot of skills in 3d design.



4) quite a few artists can make their art look similar to this so I'm not sure if this person has a distinct style.

The way its set out is pretty pro. the colours used are tasteful and he seems to have some kind of palettes throughout that making it work together. the format show of various aspects of his skills and has good variety. Hiis pages mainly consist of one art piece per but when they dont the different pieces and the writing are set out clearly.

2. the aspects i would copy would be the general layout of the portfolio as a whole. When looking at it you can see the consistence of the artist and it adds the the appeal.

2) Personally, I'd try to show off my best work, but namely try to show the variety of work I've created. The digital ident, motion graphics, and poster would all be featured prominently, in addition to my best personal work.

3) A clear and complex understanding of 3D modelling procedures, including rigging, texturing, weighting and the actual animation. This translates into familiarity and competence in Maya.

4) No, as they're available for commission for a vast range of visual styles and needs, so the work created varies in appearance from Pixar-Ish to semi-realistic. Only branding in the corner of images could identify them.

I like this because the layout is simple and keeps the focus on the art. I like the cooler tones within most of the art and the painted style, along with the fact that all characters have distinct personalities.
