Lilly: The difference between a introduction and a body paragraph is that an introduction is there to explain the main idea, make you want to read the essay and to get your opinion in there. The body paragraph is there to explain the idea more and there are multiple of them. They are they same because they are both paragraphs.

Similarities and differences between Introduction Paragraph and Body Paragraph are simple to think of, but can be hard to put into words. The most obvious difference is that the intro has a hook, bridge, and thesis, while a body paragraph has a topic sentence, supporting evidence, and concluding sentence. The most obvious similiarty is that they're both going to be about the same topic. If you think about it more, however, you'll see many, many more differences and similarities.
One of afore mentioned differences is that while the intro sets the essay up, grabs the reader and usually states a claim, the body paragraph supports the claim in different ways. For example, I bet the first sentence in this post caught your attention, so now you're still reading this, and seeing my evidence and knowing that right now, this is a body paragraph. Am I right?

A simularity is background information about the topic of that paragraph. A difference is that a body paragraph doesn't have a thesis but a intro paragraph does. Another difference is that an intro paragraph has a hook for the beginning sentence.
