Many years ago I was in the airport coming back from a family holiday, and while we waited with the bags for the van to come pick us up from the terminal a very old and weak lady approached us. She was selling dishcloths, and they weren't expensive or anything, we just actually didn't have any cash to buy it, but I felt so so bad for her, she was so poor and it was late at night, and it broke my heart that we couldn't help the poor lady, and she was being basically ignored by everyone in my family and everybody else at the terminal, so I begged my mom to buy anything from her, just give her some cash, but they actually didn't have it, so I felt really bad that she was ignored by everyone, she probably had been there all day, and that was very sad, cause unlike my parents, most people in there probably could help her, they just chose not to, and as child I really related to being ignored by all the grown ups, and that's my empathy drop.
-André 3°C

Last year, I had a friend that would not be approved on school, for the third time. He asked me for help, since we were close friends back then. His parents were aware of the situation, and they wanted me to teach him or help him; unfortunately, it was impossible, having known that I did not have enough time. Conclusion: I did all his tests and he was approved. It might not be ethical, but I'm sure it was one of my most beautiful actions. His family got delighted and so did I.
João Pedro

There was this time I had to go to the market to buy some things to my mom and was waiting in this big line. All of a sudden, this guy started yelling at the cashier for not being fast enough and everybody started staring at him, while the cashier was looking scared at the scene, she couldn’t do anything else. So one of the women in the line tried to calm him down, because he was being very rude. Soon, everyone was shocked and the security guard took him out of the place. This time I was a bystander and couldn’t imagine doing the same as the woman did. I was shocked and sad that the cashier had to go through that. As a teenager, I don’t think he would listen to me.
Beatriz Pimentel

Years ago, as a bystander, I saw the following situation: a employee in a shop was having to deal with a difficult client, that was shouting and was making a ruckus. The employee, scared, couldn't deal with the client, as it was, according to her clothes, still training. One brave soul, a few minutes later, tried to talk to the person being rude, and soon after, security was called, and that person was kicked out of the store.
Guilherme Takashi
