2) Writing the BTA paper helped me learn about the importance of equitable education for all and helped me learn  more about my major by focusing on deaf and hearing impaired individuals.

For me, learning about educational philosophies and theorists was a big turning point in my frame of reference for what teaching could be. Having the language and intellectual background to articulate my thoughts was an affirmation of sorts. 

The history of education was fascinating for similar reasons. Being able to see where we came from and why things were set up that way informs the future. 

All of this ties into why we even do education.
