         <description><![CDATA[<div>1) Learning about all the different purposes of education and how each of them piggyback off of one another to make schooling what it is today.<br>2) Writing the BTA paper helped me learn about the importance of equitable education for all and helped me learn&nbsp; more about my major by focusing on deaf and hearing impaired individuals.&nbsp;<br>3) Learning about the funding of schools was very interesting to me because I never really thought about all the different levels of government involved and how much work it takes.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Reconstructionism, historical foundations, and the general purpose of education.&nbsp;<br><br>For me, learning about educational philosophies and theorists was a big turning point in my frame of reference for what teaching could be. Having the language and intellectual background to articulate my thoughts was an affirmation of sorts.&nbsp;<br><br>The history of education was fascinating for similar reasons. Being able to see where we came from and why things were set up that way informs the future.&nbsp;<br><br>All of this ties into why we even do education. Outside of the typical answers of discovery and advancement, there is a deeply social aspect to a community being educated together. </div>]]></description>
