Why could Greece not govern itself after the Peloponnesian War, Sparta was ruled by a group of officials making it an oligarchy, which was highly capable of maintaining a city state or a nation. The question is, in the text, there was no direct evidence stating what caused the war, so how could the Spartans have disrupted the athenian way of life since both city states went to war with each other?

How does this show that Athens is better than Sparta as a city-state? Sparta hada very disciplined and ordered society making it much more safer than Athens and had better gender roles as well. Athens' women can not partake in social life or even athletics (training) as do Spartans which helps support that Sparta is a better city state.
